My business is geared to the middle to luxury end of the market and my unique selling point is that I help my clients bring out their personality in their homes to create a unique living space, which is both visually pleasing as well as practical.
I run a small business from my show home in Shirley which I use to inspire my clients for domestic decorative projects. I have an office with the latest designer fabric, wallpaper, and trimmings books and also visit my clients in their home to save them the stress of shopping, making decisions which saves them time and therefore saves them money. My main aim is to help my clients to create a unique living space which reflects their personality and lifestyle and therefore a close working relationship with the client is essential for a successful outcome. I have a down to earth approach to interior design, a natural flair and instinct for what "looks right" and with over 10 years' experience in the trade I have a real understanding of my client's requirements.
The majority of my work is interior design which involves space planning, lighting, colour schemes, window treatments and soft furnishings, supply of furniture, flooring. The finishing touches of a project, such as adding mirrors, flowers and artwork, which I believe add individuality and personality, are vital to a successful outcome.
I undertake house refurbishments in the Kent and Surrey areas which involve project management skills such as: estimates of work, sourcing suppliers, overseeing all works on the property as well as managing tradesmen and of course making sure the project is completed both on schedule and also within budget.
My goals for 2011 are to get involved in London based projects, including boutique hotels, and to increase my involvement with property developers in the South East and Central London.
I am currently undertaking a Vectorworks CAD course which is a useful tool for larger projects, both for presentation to the client and to developers.
I am also planning to write my first book on interior design, a new challenge which I am looking forward to.
