Our house purchase survey picked up an unsupported section of chimney remaining in the loft from a removal by the previous occupants. Steve explained the work required fully when he quoted, turned up promptly to do it and completed the removal quickly in a professional manner. He was very polite and I have already arranged for him to come back to do a larger job. Would recommend.

From what started as quite a small job, replacing Air Bricks and Supplying Ducts, and moving a 1st Floor Joist to allow for a new staircase, as we dug deeper more and more gremlins raised their heads. On investigating the Air flow of the property We found most the floor joists were rotten. Steve took on all the work rectifying the problems and ended up replacing all the timbers for downstairs. He also took on removal of one of the internal brick walls running throughout the property as it had become unstable from all various works done over the lifespan of the property. He Propped up both the 1st floor and roof and removed the wall and replaced with stud work. Whilst working at my property Steve was willing to pass on tips and skills in order for me to carry out the rest of the project and throughout was very helpful and honest with anything he had told me and left the house tidy when he had finished. Price came in as agreed in the quote and all work was done to a high standard.

Steve was very prompt and attended our property the day after our call, where he identified our problem with dampness, the cause,a broken soakaway pipe, and talked us through what work was required which involved new air bricks, damp proofing,wood treatment, removal of damaged joists and flooring. New joists and flooring were fitted, replastering to outside walls. The work was all carried out to a high standard, and price was as estimated. We were very pleased with the speedy response and the standard of workmanship and would be happy to recomend his services

We have discovered a damp corner of the house and Steve gave good advice to the causes and resolution. On time, quick and reliable service pointing to the problems and the solutions available. This is the second project that Steve has done this year for me, this one bigger than the last , we worked together to keep price down and had many laughs throughout. He is coming back to finish off next week as other trades have been involved . The house looks great and has become a firm friend . Steve was very helpful, he turned up to look at the job very quickly and then was able to identify the problem and fix it there and then. Removing a rotten wooden beam, installing a damp proof membrane and filling with cement. He tidied all the mess and removed all waste from site. The price was very reasonable too. The work was carried out to time and cost. We were kept informed of timescales for the project and individual stages in the project. Steve and his team were informative, understanding of small changes of mind which came up, and Steve in particular was friendly and helpful, for example he suggested a couple of changes to what we thought we wanted, and proved to be absolutely right in his suggestions. We were immediately at ease with Steve, (sufficiently so that we gave him a key to allow him free access) and thank him for a couple of extra tasks he did at no charge while he was here. We were recommend Steve by a friend. He is a lovely guy, and we could not fault the work that he did for us. Steve was employed to carry out a reasonably large project which included removing a chimney and chimney breast, removing two walls, making good, moving sockets, re-plastering all walls and ceilings, fitting new skirting boards and architrave, re-doing pipe work for new radiators and boxing in. Quotations were given and charges never went above the quotes. Steve and his team arrived when they said they would, were as clean and tidy as is possible given the dirty nature of building work and all were completely trustworthy. We had no issues leaving them alone in our property. Steve has a great team to call on for all the various trades and they all take pride in their work. Steve himself is a perfectionist and won't rest until the job is completed to his high standard. We have no hesitation in recommending Steve and his team and we're hoping that we can engage him for further work as and when funds allow.

Another company were supposed to be fitting our new bathroom, but after they discovered that a partition wall wasn't properly fixed to the floor joist, they walked off site leaving me totally in the lurch - 3 kids and no washing facilities other than a small downstairs toilet and hand basin. Steve came to our rescue! He came out the next morning to look at the wall, gave us a fair price for fixing it, and came out on the Saturday of the bank holiday weekend to do the work. He was on time and completely professional and polite throughout. We are so grateful, and really appreciate the great job he did - fixing the wall properly to the joist, plaster boarding it, and fixing the door frame too. More than that, he went above and beyond, giving us some welcome and necessary advice with regard the safety of the room as the other company had left it, and telling us what we should expect them to do with respect to the flooring and re-plaster boarding the walls they were supposed to do, and offered to come out to check their work once they were done if we were unsure about any of the workmanship. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Steve to anyone, and we will certainly be keeping his number for any future work we need doing on the house.

Well where can I start .. we started the job and within the first day the rear wall fell down unexpectedly as built in 1903 !, Steve after some frowning then got about rebuilding the whole thing a job we hadn't envisaged, I did worry as at this point it would be a cowboy builder would leave you in the lurch Steve got on with it and it was done well and all within the time frame. The whole building aspect changed really but he got it done and obviously knows his stuff. We had RSj's, hole digging I had a mountain of rubble in the back garden ! It was all a good experience. During this all the electrics and plumbing were undertaken and a bathroom re fit, doing this was the "master" Chris ... guys this fella can do anything. My dad whose retired was on site most days and will miss them both I know. Any problems they sorted them even with the troubles I've described. These guys know their stuff and that's what you pay for, I'll hopefully use them again if I can as I'm a demanding client.

Steve was prompt throughout, always courteous and more importantly reliable. I was continually kept informed of progress and the schedule was met even when obstacles were encountered that could not have been foreseen. The job involved removing a supporting wall, inserting an RSJ and welding to an existing RSJ. On work commencing, an additional RSJ was discovered that we couldn't have identified prior, plus our surveyor had measured inaccurately. Steve dealt with both accordingly, ensuring that all parties were happy with the corrective measures that had to be taken. Steve wasn't fazed by additional work requested along the way and costs were inline with the quote. Additional costs due to the complications were kept to a minimum. More than happy with the service provided and would definitely recommend Steve and use him again.

From the initial quote this builder has shown himself to be punctual, diligent, honest, and trustworthy. Quotes were very reasonable and were provided with expert advice on how to carry out works. Work commenced each day on the button and Steve worked very hard all day during which time he was completely trusted and at times with nobody at the property. The work carried out included the requirement for the assistance of an electrician and a plasterer and Steve was able to source these without problem. One of our initial concerns was the amount of dust that could have been created, but as Steve took considerable care in taping up doors, the dust did not spread. Steve also removed rubble from the house in a very tidy way. Work was completed to an absolute top-notch standard and in complete accordance with building regulations. Steve worked closely with council inspectors to ensure the required certificates were issued without problem. For all of the above and also because he is a thoroughly nice person, I would have no hesitation in highly recommending him.

Excellent job very pleased from start to finish, price was spot on and never changed, my partner and I were very pleased as it was right on our budget of which Steve never knew.He is an excellent workman, tidy, (fussy everything had to be just right) very early starting we were still in bed at 07.30 when he called on the first day, felt very comfortable having him in the house just like having a friend round very easy to talk to and get on with, felt totally trustworthy even went out and had to leave him home alone. Would recommend and have every hope that we will use Steve again for our next project.This feed back is very late as we have had awful problems with our broadband since it's been installed shame it's not as good as our builder..........

I would recommend Steve as he is a very capable and skillful builder. He is very knowledgable when you ask him anything to do with his work. I have marked down accuracy of estimate because of a lack of clarity with the quote. The quote was (reasonably) for a no-hitches job. I live in a very old house and inevitably there were hitches. I would have liked the quote to have had details of any potential hitches and their extra costs. I think then both parties would have been clearer about possible changes to work and price. When the price did change I do believe that Steve raised it with good reason or no more than he should. The finish of the job was excellent and much better than previous builders we have had.

I would recommend Steve. He built internal walls and door frames, installed celotex in my flat roof. Importantly he sealed some lead flashing on the outside of the building whereas another builder had said it all needed replacing! He always turned up on time. He was also very flexible and dealt well with my changing requirements.

Pin pointed problem very quickly - shoddy work by a local conservatory company several years ago. Matched up bricks to existing brickwork. The top of the wall now looks like a professional job and is watertight. Finished job was below quote. I would recommend Steve to anybody. Excellent job.
