Shaw Preservations are full members of the PCA. Established in 1974 we became a limited company in 1980 and have a very strong reputation with the remedial industry. We have resisted the urge to grow as we feel by staying relatively small we can offer a more personal service.
Dampness in properties is a serious problem with the damage ranging from slight, as in decorative staining to more severe such as structural damage. Water can enter buildings in a number of ways, ie penetrating rising, plumbing leaks etc, and dampness can also be created from within the property itself, ie as in condensation. Each of the above require different treatments in order to solve the problem and it is vitally important that the correct diagnosis is initially made and the recommendations undertaken. It is therefore VERY important that a qualified surveyor inspects your property.
We have fully qualified surveyors and are members of the PCA (formerly known as the BWPDA) We are also members of the structural waterproofing group (SWG) and Surrey Trading Standards/Trustmark. All our surveyors are salaried (ie they don't work on commission - negating the need to 'find' work to top up their income and our office staff are highly trained to answer any questions you have.
Please contact our office and ask for our free leaflet on ' How to avoid Rogue damp proofers' This will tell you the difference between 'approved' and qualified surveyors, a summary of the qualifications, how to spot if a company has regularly changed its name, if a 'backed insured guarantee' is genuine or not etc.
All Operatives/surveyors are CRB Checked. (Police checked)
Besides working for homeowners and prospective purchasers, we also work for housing associations, architects, surveyors, building contractors etc.
