This was a particularly awkward job as it started at ground level and went up into the apex of the attic with slanting roof area. I am happy to report that the standard of work and the manner in which it was conducted was excellent. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend or use SPRUS again. Well done!

Great job, thank you. Daniel is efficient, courteous and patient (nothing was too much trouble). The work was completed to a high standard and I was kept posted via e-mails and photos throughout. The noise of my neighbours is very much reduced and I feel I can relax in my own home (at last) and sleep the night through. Looking forward to inviting friends and family now without worrying about them not sleeping. Wish I'd done it when the problem started three years ago!

Daniel managed to squeeze my job in pretty quickly and when there looked to be delays in the material being delivered he managed to sort it out. It was all installed quickly and with no mess. I had M20 panels and two layers of plasterboard put in to each alcove of the living room in my 1930s semi' s party wall. Previously I would hear the TV next door upon entering the room. Now you can only notice it by standing in the alcove and listening hard, and even then you wouldn't be able to tell what channel it was. A great improvement for very little loss of space. I would recommend the company and the work I had done.

We are very happy with the resulting reduction in noise from the flat above, roughly a 70% percent improvement. There is still some impact noise but it is much reduced and feels somewhat removed and far less invasive. This Sunday morning I enjoyed a lay in without the sound of my neighbours hymns. The work was completed ahead of schedule and to a wonderful standard, the plasterer's work is faultless too. I will be having my hallway fitted with the same independent ceiling system later this year, the improvement is absolutely worth the cost, which is fair. I would recommend Soundproofing RUs to everybody, in fact it was a customer who recommended them to me.

Everyone worked really hard and finished on time even with additional works. We were kept informed every stage of work. When there was additional work needed we were again clearly informed. Daniel and the team really impressed us and went over our expectations. Result is great and we are so happy to have a quiet life, finally! I would strongly recommend this company and we will use them again certainly in the future for other rooms. It was the best decision we made on the house!

Daniel and his team did an excellent job. I was constantly updated with progress photos which was good to see them building what I specified. I got a M10 barrier with isolated wall filled with rock wool, soundproof matting, resilient bars and two boards of plasterboard. So far seems to work well and much less noise can be heard coming through the wall. My son can have his room back and enjoy it in relative peace. Would highly recommend Daniel.

This firm was better than we dared to hope. They were clearly competent to do the work. They were timely, worked hard and left the room clean and tidy at the end of every day. When the job was finished they removed all rubbish and left the place spick and span even cleaning down the fitted cupboards. The quality of the work is excellent and the soundproofing effective. I would highly recommend this company! I got numerous quotes and Soundproofing RUs offered the best value and the clearest breakdown of cost. In addition to being the best value they also brought forward the work on my property because of my situation - I had not slept in a week after a noisy neighbour moved in. Daniel rearranged his diary and was with me the next week. Daniel and his team were courteous and extremely hardworking. They talked me through the work at every stage and barely stopped for a break. We have a great neighbour but his voice just carries and I looked and looked online for the best option and soundproofingrus.Com gave me so much information about how sound travels and what is the best method. Gave them a call and Daniel came round to have a look and give me a price. I had to wait a little while to get the job done but I didn't mind at all as I was very happy with what Daniel had suggested and the price and a good thing is worth waiting for. They came the morning agreed and I got a running picture commentary of what they were doing and what it was, which is great to see. Then all due to be finished day 2 and it was all plastered, cleaned up, and replacement new lights I had chosen. I was very happy with the job, price and finish. I contacted several companies for a quote when I moved into my East London flat Summer 2012. The noise through the party wall (music and loud conversation) was unbearable, as were the footsteps and loud TV and conversation from the flat above. This is a purpose built flat approximately 20 years old. The construction is red brick facade, (presumably a cavity) then block and "dot and dab" plasterboard. I received several quotes and estimates, Daniel's was the most competitively priced and he provided full cost breakdown structure. He was willing to answer all my questions and clarify as necessary. His competitors had not been so forthcoming and at times had been evasive. The lead and delivery time was longer than expected but it was worth the wait. The summary of work carried out was removal of "dot and dab" plasterboard exposing the blockwork. There was an area on the external wall which required attention and this was "filled". The framework was installed with "rockwool", black matting applied and two layers of acoustic panelling added. The walls and ceiling were then plastered. I also decided to go ahead with additional work (oak flooring, 2 fire doors, painting and decorating). Daniel dealt with the sub contractors and sourced the materials. I was also able to add some "value engineering" and upgrade the materials, in particular the electrical sockets, flooring material, skirting boards and paint. Some work can also be carried out on a Saturday. At each stage it was clearly explained what was being done, the team were punctual and hard working. Communication took place by text, email and telephone and photographs were provided for work in progress. Daniel provided an inclusive "design and build" service as well as project managing the work. This saved me a tremendous amount of time in ringing around for estimates, meeting up with sub contractors, sourcing materials and having to actually be at the property whilst the work was...

Daniel and his team did a fantastic job on my first floor maisonette! After many years of noise from downstairs neighbours I was close to selling my property (which I do love) for 'a quiet life'. I wasn't sure if sound proofing would work but I can say now I wish I had done this sooner! The sound proofing has considerably lowered the level of noise from downstairs. It's not completely gone but the improvement is undeniable. In addition to the sound proofing work I also had a new floor laid in my living room and bedroom and some plastering and painting done as well. Daniel and his team were very punctual and worked hard to finish the project on time. They've done a fantastic job and my property looks and feels brand new. Sound proofing is not a cheap option but in relation to the costs of moving house I feel like I've saved more than I've spent. If you're suffering with noisy neighbours I really recommend you contacting Daniel, in my opinion life's too short to stress over other people's noise!

I first contacted Soundproofing R Us Ltd for a quote last summer since I could not bare the noise made from my neighbours upstairs (I am living in a converted Victorian flat). I quickly received a detailed quote and Daniel was always prompt to answer all my questions. He then came to have a quick look at the place to give me a more accurate quote and explained to me what the options were and what the results would be. I felt confident they were true and trustworthy professional and booked them (they were fully booked for the following three months but I thought it was worth the wait). Work started early January (as promised to me three months earlier) and lasted four days (as promised to me). My old ceiling was taken down and replaced by a new one...work was done very efficiently. At every single step I was clearly explained what was being done, asked to come and have a look at the intermediate results and told what was left to do and when it would be done. At the end of every day, the place was left very clean and the morning after, work started bang on time. After 3 and a half days of work, the job was completed and I can now enjoy the silence in my living room (an truly impressive difference compared to how it was). I was really impressed with the quality of work but also with the service provided. Daniel and his team were all hard working people but also extremely friendly and helpful. I will definitely contact them again when I have the funds to soundproof the rest of my flat.

Daniel and his colleague soundproofed the party walls in 2 rooms in my house, using the independent wall solution with soundmatting. I was sceptical about how effective it would be, as the party wall lets through the slightest sounds from our neighbours (so, I'm sure they could hear us, too), but I decided to try it anyway, as the noise was unbearable. And, what a success it has been! I know from other rooms in the house which haven't been soundproofed, when the neighbours are being noisy, but when I go into the rooms which Daniel soundproofed, I either hear...silence, or just slight sounds which are distant and muffled and totally acceptable, and I imagine they can't hear us now, either, which makes me feel my privacy has been returned. The improvement is unbelievable and I am absolutely delighted! My quality of life has improved immeasurably! Daniel and his colleague carried out the work thoroughly, quickly and tidily, and remained polite, helpful, knowledgeable and professional at all times. If you have problems with noise, then these are definitely the people to go to. I totally recommend Soundproofing R Us, and would use them again without any hesitation.

This is the second time I have used Daniel and my advice to anyone with a severe noise problem is that they shouldn't hesitate. I now feel as if I live in a detached house. I had a severe noise problem previously and Daniel managed to get me a hundred per cent reduction in my two major rooms so I had him finish my house by doing the hallway. All too often people sit around moaning about how the noise from their neighbours' properties is destroying the quality of their lives in terms of sleep, privacy and enjoyment. If you ring Daniel he can actually do something about it for you. His teams have always been highly skilled, efficient, pleasant, neat and tidy. And if he did general building work, instead of just specialized soundproofing, he would be my builder of choice. In summary, it's far better to hire Daniel than to spend every day and night in misery because your house is full of other people's noise.

Excellent from start to finish. Damsel's company is one of the best, if not the best, company I have ever had reason to use. He and consequently his team are thoroughly professional, skilled, tidy, on time, go the extra mile when necessary and are nice people into the bargain. The initial brief was to soundproof the main bedroom ceiling but as work progressed it became apparent two walls needed to be done. These guys were fantastic. The guy in charge (Daniel Pelser) is an absolute perfectionist and every detail was covered. His workers were tidy, on time and skillful. We live in a period cottage set back 100ft from a country road which has a national speed limit. Traffic sound often penetrated through the vaulted ceilings. Dan came in and provided the ideal solution for this. After two weeks work, three bedrooms and a loft were completely sound proofed and the finishing looks great. All v happy, including my baby daughter whose bedroom is now a peaceful environment (except when she is screaming)!

I had my bedroom ceiling soundproofed by Daniel Pelser and his team two years ago and it made such a difference to the quality of my life. It was a sanctuary to retreat to when the noise from the people living above me got too much to bear. I was so impressed by this company. Daniel was really good at explaining to me what would need to be done from the outset and he never did the hard sell or chased me for an answer. Having decided to go ahead with the work, about two months later, Daniel and his team came in and over three days, the work was done including the fitting of a new box to the ceiling and layers that would soundproof it. Daniel photographed the workings of the ceiling before it was enclosed and emailed me with them during the structuring of it which was really reassuring. His team always turned up on time - and they were actually early on the first day by ten minutes but he courteously just put his equipment in the corridor waiting for us to be fully ready to go to work. They always tidied up so that I came back to a clean house every day. They covered everything before painting or plastering was done. The painter was very diligent and made sure everything was tidily completed to the corners and double coated. Overall, I am so relieved and the sound which has been so stressful to listen to from upstairs is almost non-existent (chairs moving and footsteps as well as talking). They were really professional and I would recommend them to anyone.

We own a first floor flat in a poorly converted house (next door to our home), which was originally a single family home and was converted into three flats in 1960 or so. The soundproofing was very poor, and Daniel Pelser and his colleagues did a major piece of work for us to soundproof the kitchen, bedroom and passageway, partly for our neighbours below but also partly for users of our bedroom. The work seemed to be done expertly, expeditiously and with lots of good humour. Daniel explained to me each evening where they had got to, and what issues had been arising. I felt in good hands, and was very pleased, in retrospect, that we had chosen his firm to do the work and had agreed quite a major scope of work rather than doing it bit by bit. We may get Daniel in again to do some more work to insulate the floor all the way down our longish passageway, and some other work in our main home next door.

It is occasional and distant. Next door has wooden floors, and I just have carpet without underlay. These sounds could be reduced further with underlay. I don’t know if four layers of everything (sound board, barrier matting, or rock wool) would have made any difference. I don’t know if the materials used for my home solution are the same as one would have used to soundproof a loud factory. If this solution exists or existed, I would have chosen it. Overall I am happy that I cannot hear next door talking, TV light switches ect. I can put up with the occasional thud. 2. Ceiling in the living room I had the living room ceiling done. I wanted the living room to be as quiet as possible; and became convinced that whenever next door play their ‘music’ it seeps into any parts of this house which have not been soundproofed. I no longer hear next door scraping something along their wooden floor. I don’t hear music from next door, but they are not noisy anyway. 2. Bedrooms Don’t hear anything in the soundproofed bedrooms (had stud wall to the party walls, and M20 for the walls adjoining. Before I had the work done, I could hear coughing, light switches ect. I don’t hear next doors bathroom noise in the second bedroom since I had the bathroom done. 3. Bathrooms Had the bathroom done the other day. They installed a stud wall, and new sound board (one layer) and did not remove the old plaster board walls. They could not apply the stud wall all the way down the wall because there is a sewer pipe that runs along the edge of the wall where the bath was. The work made the bathroom a bit smaller than before. I don’t mind the loss of space. Before I could hear talking and singing. I hear if they are banging on the wall? One would hear...

The quality of the work (including the re-plastering) and services were exceptional. Not only has the solution worked and the new ceilings minimised noise from the flat above, great care was taken during the work to protect the wood floor (protective floorboards installed, not just dust-sheets) and our possessions. It was a relief that the work started and finished on time and at no time was it suggested that the price would increase "due to unforeseen circumstances", which often happens with others. The contractors also cooperated with our other contractors so that re-wiring in the ceiling could take place at the same time which was very helpful.

I am very impressed by Daniel and his craftsmen' work. They have made a very significant difference to the noise leaking into my house from next door. Before, I could hear every time they pressed a light switch and unplugged an appliance but I no longer notice the noise from next door in the rooms that were treated. I consider the very reasonable sum that I paid to Daniel and his craftsmen to be money very well spent - I can relax a lot more in my home now without the irritation of hearing all the comings-and-goings from next door. It is like getting my home back again. The solution that they installed (independent wall where possible (with additional matting), M20 panels where there wasn't enough room for an independent wall) is very effective, very reasonably priced, and, in my opinion, very professionally and promptly installed. This is third time I have used this highly professional company. I wanted to have the ceiling; under the stairs area; and the wall associated with it soundproofed, because these areas were not treated, and everyday sounds from next door (dull thud walking around and impact noises) were occasionally creeping in. There is a void underneath the stairs and the ceiling; and sounds will creep into those parts and become audible if not sound proofed. The gentlemen arrived very early (and on time). I had resilient sound breaker bars installed for the living room ceiling, and 2 inch option with rock wool installed in the voids for the internal walls. The work generates a lot of dust, but the guys do their best to minimise this and always tidy up after themselves. Sound breaker bars were installed for both solutions. Since I have had the work done, the living room is extremely quiet (I still do hear the odd thud), but I have to listen very carefully to hear it. I no longer hear sounds coming in from under the stairs. I have had a lot of sound proofing work done (see previous comments ‘1994 dab and dot property’), but this is because next door is rented, and I don’t know what I am going to get, and I don’t want to move house. One needs to bear in mind that the sound reduction achieved depends on the construction of the property, the noise one is trying to block out, and how sensitive to noise one is. If one is looking for total silence, one needs a detached house. The noises I have been complaining about previously have been reduced by about eighty to ninety percent. I am very happy with the results obtained so far, and will post another comment on how it is all going later on. So far so good! Daniel and his team were thoroughly professional in their approach, arriving on time and indeed one day, a little early. They were careful to protect floor surfaces by use of dust sheets and , for wooden floors, hardboard. Each evening they cleaned and left the flat in as good a condition as possible. They finished on time, with plastering and painting completed in time for me to reclaim my flat before the weekend. I had two rooms done and although it is difficult to quantify the results scientifically, footfall is much reduced and very muffled compared with previously. Airborne sound is also much less than previously. So - would I use them again? - most definitely.

Daniel and his whole team did a fantastic job. They were unfailingly punctual, hard working, professional, friendly and polite. Initially they were to soundproof 3 ceilings and 1 wall in my middle floor flat in a Victorian conversion. Once work started, it soon became clear that other walls were in urgent need of replastering. Daniel did his utmost to accommodate the new tasks in the timeframe he had given originally. As a first time buyer with no experience of having work done, Daniel explained everything very patiently and kept me informed each day of the progress made. Daniel and his whole team work to a high standard, with close attention to detail. They left the flat looking like a completely new place, with straight walls and ceilings and a new coat of paint. I am very pleased with the results and am enjoying a much quieter flat. Previously I could hear the TV upstairs virtually word for word, and now it is a faint noise in the background. The workmen made the works as pleasant as possible. They left everything clean and tidy. Great team, very friendly, punctual, tidy, helpful in every aspect. I was told that the soundproofing would be reduced to about 60% and I guess that is what it has done. I had the Resilient/Sound Breaker Bars put into the ceilings with double the amount of wool and soundproofing sheets. Basically as much as was humanly possible, so Daniel and his team couldn't have done any more, with my ceiling height limitations which meant that I could only come down an inch. The team did a great job of what they could do with the soundproofing, and the result is that I can still hear the walking on the floorboards above, which was my main problem, but it is very muffled and more distant, which I can live with quite happily. They also arranged for an electrician to come round and fix some light fittings which was handy. I must admit at first I did get my hopes up that miracles were going to be produced and I would be living in silence, but the reality is, and Daniel will tell you this, that alot of noise comes down the walls, so it would be very hard to eradicate the noise completely. Living in a ground floor flat in London, I guess there's always going to be some neighbourly noise. I'm pretty happy that it's finally done though, as incessant noise can drive you mad, and I can get on with life in moderate quiet. Thank you Daniel, David and Len, I will definitely use you again if need be.

Amazing workmanship, they got into corners and places I thought would have been out of bounds, if they had a motto I'm sure it would be along the lines of "If it's possible we'll do it right away, if it's impossible that might take a little longer but we'll get it done" and believe me they will! Daniel did warn us that the noise from our next door neighbours new water pump would not be removed completely, but after his company installed the soundproofing to the front and back bedrooms of our house it is certainly more tolerable.
