“Pros: They were friendly and polite, They showed up on time. Cons: 1) I've decided to go for the most sound damping proposed solution but it does not work as I hoped (I had high expectation), I can still hear my neighbour chatting, walking and singing (only snoring is gone). 2) The first time that they came to do the job, due to a misunderstanding they couldn't do the job. We rescheduled the job after 1 month unfortunately I had to pay more for the new circumstances .3) Requesting a solution the only one proposed was a refund but only if the sound test proves that the sound proofing is not working. The sound test implies to test the sound propagation with and without the ceiling which means I had to remove the current ceiling at a refundable expenses of £1100 (£600 for the test £500 for the disposal). The possibility of the refund and the procedure to get it was mentioned only after my complaint.”

Response from Soundproofing R Us Ltd:
After receiving over 260 reviews on Checkatrade from customers who say soundproofing has worked very well for them and in some cases changed their lives for the better, we took it very seriously when a customer said it did not. We offered to carry out a full sound test and offered a full refund on all works if test showed no improvement in noise levels. Customer declined the test and said it did improve and actually removed the snoring from above, but was hoping for more as he is extremely sensitive to noise. The Questions we get asked every day. Does Soundproofing really work? The answer is YES. Unfortunately we are all prone to noise on different levels, so it’s always hard to give an exact outcome after installation. This is something we advise all our customers before any installations are carried out.
