I started the company literally from the ground upwards, starting with my first experience within horticulture and soon moving into the landscape gardening industry were I found employment with a gardening firm and then moving on to work on a fantastic estate. In the meanwhile I had a growing interest in the Arboreal side of things. Whilst I was still employed I contacted and enrolled on a tree surgery course and still managed to maintain employment.
After a year I had completed the course with distinction and then decided to end my employment and go at it alone as a self employed landscape gardener. The horticultural background I had gained held me in good stead. I regarded trees as big plants, the principles of pruning are just the same with added ability to safely carry out tree maintenance in a safe manner
The training I had acquired gave me the confidence to tackle trees when asked by a costumer. As from the first tree surgery job I quickly began to establish a name by word of mouth contact. Eventually I had to give up the gardening side of things and solely concentrate on the tree surgery.
I have many regular clients now and carry out long term and sensitive tree management on a regular business. I stand by my principles with quality management to safeguard tree health. If you own trees, work is not a one off treatment and many people may feel that if we prune the tree hard we can save money doing work again. This can often cause trees serious harm and may leave the tree in poor shape.
I don't just carry out work on the big trees, often we will tackle hedges and winter pruning on apples trees. And late summer pruning on Walnut and flowering cherry trees as this is the best time to prune.
