1) Replacing Dining Ceiling and redecorating and 2) Replacing Flat garage roof
We have used Richard and Sam (South Coast Property Services) for a couple of jobs over the past year and can strongly recommend them. Last year they replaced our dining room ceiling (after a flood) and last month they replaced our aging garage roof. They are courteous, professional, industrious and their work is of a very high quality.  They are a pleasure to work with - but keep the cups of tea coming!

Repairs to roof between house and sun room to waterproof it.
As soon as it rained the water poured through, Mr Garman came back again for 25 mins and used silicone, but it's still leaking badly. Very disappointed with the work. Had to pay another company to repair and Mr Garman has refused to refund me.

Shower room, including elctrical work.
Mr Garman was pleasant and helpful to start with so we trusted him and paid him nearly all the contract price before the work was accepted by the council. "...The work that proved unsatisfactory was the roof on the shower room which Mr Garman knew leaked badly at the end of September. He made no atttempt to come to do the repairs. The piping in the shower room leaked and flooded the floor but we did not ask Mr Garman to see to this as we could not put up with his unreliablilty. Mr Garman made no attempt to secure for us the necessary certificate of the completion of the electrical work which was done in September 2006 and he did not reply to a letter we sent him on 11 December 2006 or to many telephone calls. The Building Inspector asked Mr Garman about this but we know from the electrician, once we made contact with him, that Mr Garman had not made any request re this certificate. As we did not know the name of the electrician it took six months to trace him. Mr Garman initially said that work would commence in May 2006. Work did not start and he did not contact us with an explanation. This was repeated for a July start. Work began in early August with his estimate of 4 - 5 weeks to completion. He left at the end of September with the work not completed. We had to dispense with his services early in December as his attitude was causing a great deal of stress and inconvenience." Letter received from Customer 19 May 2007: "(The dates) on the Part P certificate and the Completion certificate (seen by Checkatrade) show that Mr Garman's statements regarding the dates were not correct." CHECKATRADE NOTE: Part P certificate states council informed of work on 10/3/07 and certificate dated from then. Completion certificate shows inspection of site was 3/4/07.

The roof in question was attended to straight away. Following bad weather prevented further applications of fibreglass treatment, customer did not contact me regarding pipe in shower room.Also customer did not have to wait 6 months for Part P certificate. Work finished in September as agreed and completion certificate given.
