Darren undertook his apprenticeship for Frank Wyatt Construction Ltd of Upton, Dorset in 1987. After completing his apprenticeship in 1989, he went on to work on & manage many construction projects throughout the UK & abroad. Within his career, he has carried out work on shop fitting and construction projects such as Gucci, Burberry, River Island, Maplins, Toyota, Tesco and Esso. He has also worked on many high end, bespoke residential and commercial projects in London and Dorset. In 2008, Darren formed Topnotch Construction, bringing all of the knowledge and expertise from his career in London and around the world and putting it in to his own company here in Dorset where he began. We have an excellent team of contractors and our projects are always completed to the highest standards. Topnotch Construction's areas of expertise are within residential and commercial extensions, conversions and refurbishments.

A 2 storey extension, new fitted kitchen and a garage conversion

We are thrilled with our extension. Topnotch were excellent. They constantly kept us informed about what was happening. They sorted out the problems we were having with our building regulations, taking all the worry and stress from us. Topnotch gave us ideas and found solutions for the little things we had not thought about like the small heater for the utility room. We feel lucky to have chosen such a professional team. Without a doubt we would use them again and have recommended them to our friends

Excellent work by Darren from start to finish, nothing was too much trouble. My new, non-standard size front door has already been much admired by neighbours and fellow villagers, not to mention how pleased we are with it ourselves (and thankful that he managed to keep the existing glazing)! I would thoroughly recommend Darren to anyone and wouldn’t hesitate to use Topnotch again when I need work doing. He was very courteous, friendly, efficient and professional, a pleasure.

Good liaison with local council and architect meant that the work was completed in a timely manner.  The standard of work was good and the quality of the materials used was above average.
