In my opinion what was supposed to be a boiler service became a nightmare. The engineer discovered a gas leak but would not investigate it. I was then told that if I did not consent to un-requested work I would be reported to the authorities. In the end I had to employ another tradesman.

Response from Transgas Services:
The original job request was for a boiler service and to inspect a suspected leak on the gas fire. A leak was discovered and was investigated and found to be on concealed pipework. As this was a much bigger job than expected, based on the client’s brief, we could not carry out the repair at that time due to other appointments. The customer was given the option to have the leak isolated and made safe or having to be cut off. Had she refused to be cut off, we would have had to inform Southern Gas Networks. We left the customer with heating and hot water restored. The other tradesman employed by the customer would have been to repair/replace the pipework that we had isolated. We strongly disagree with all comments and scores given by this customer and would hope that one bad comment in over 300 does not discourage you from using us. We are not always perfect, but we try our best!

I thought it's better late than never as I had it done in Aug-10. The team at Transgas were very professional in doing some tricky pipe work at an awkward spaghetti junction to allow Zoning of my existing central heating system by adding of new valves, new programmer etc. I also had them run Gas pipes to fire places, which I yet to buy. The professionalism was such that I even got them to service my boiler. I'm so glad I found Transgas, I have a 2 yr old Potterton boiler which has been plagued with regular misfiring- leading to an intermittent hot water and central heating service. After numerous attempts by another company of twiddling and appointments they were not able to rectify the fault. But on the 1st visit, Transgas was able to find the source of the problem, ordered the spare parts and repaired to its full glory within a week. After having had a poor experience with a local plumber the day before (who wanted to charge £500 PLUS a £90 'callout charge' - not mentioned when we booked him to come) we were delighted with Transgas. The solution to the problem was well planned and the work carried out in a extremely professional manner.
