After gutting and refitting our bathroom, Alex went on to gut and refit the kitchen. Everything went according to the plans. We knew there might have been damp problems behind the kitchen sink wall, this was indeed the case... We were informed of the extent of the problem immediately and Alex went through all the various options and sorted it (delaying things but at least we had peace of mind). We are once again extremely satisfied by the standard of work and we continue to be impressed by Vale Property Services. We would definitely recommend Alex to others.

Alex (and Alex!) finished the bathroom today. Extremely pleased with the result. It is lovely to know that someone takes real pride in the work they do, that was really clear. Having had many experiences of being let down by builders, it is always difficult to know if you can trust someone. I can honestly say Check-a-Trade does seem to be trustworthy, and I can thoroughly recommend Alex (he will be doing our kitchen next).

In May I was able to give Alex the keys to my flat and go off on Holiday for a month, during this time he completely re decorated the flat to my complete satisfaction. This week he has installed a new wash hand basin to a unit in my shower room once again you wouldn't know he had been here. I have asked him to do more work whilst I am away later in the year.

I can cope with an increasingly bad attitude and slow work, what I think should be shared Is the clear lack of qualification and indefensible negligence .On checking the cylinder Installation it was clear that the pressure release valve outlet pipe was routed completely wrongly disappearing into the loft and not down and out to an external wall, there was no tundish - the installation broke 3 building regulations. The cylinder should not have been connected to our Aga either. As an Aga Is an uncontrolled heat source. The installation was "dangerous " left as It was. The accurate sentiment from the trader "where's the proof that I Installed the cylinder, do you have any paper work or a receipt to prove it?" I found to be a worrying remark.

In my opinion i find the comments from the customer to be completely inaccurate and frankly insulting. At Vale Property Services we always do our upmost to satisfy our customers and are always respectful and polite. Unfortunately the incident referred to was due to the sub- standard work of a sub – contractor that we used to install the cylinder. Subsequently this sub – contractor will never be asked to work on behalf of Vale Property Services, what the customer fails to mention is the fantastic work we carried out on completing his main bathroom and downstairs cloakroom which we have received no payment. In addition to this we ran a cold main supply throughout the house completely free of charge and installed a top of the range water softener which the customer has failed to pay for.

Alex had previously put new work tops in our kitchen. He returned to install the new shower unit at very short notice due to a delay from the shower manufacturer. He worked over the weekend to ensure the fitting of the shower as my partner (who has Breast Cancer) begins a Radio Therapy session today for 3 weeks. Alex said he would have it installed for Saturday evening and he certainly lived up to his word working flat out to do so!!! An excellent and professional job well done!!!! Thank You Alex!!!

We had a small upstairs cloakroom with a toilet and radiator but without a sink, next to that we had a cupboard and dead space in the hallway. Alex knocked through the two spaces and turned it in to a well laid out, space maximising (but not compromising on fixtures sizes) shower room with toilet, sink and corner shower. He built a new wall, new shelf/window ledge to join together the two existing windows, tiled floor and walls, painted and fitted all of the fixtures. He initially assessed the space and made recommendations for the fixtures based on what available at the baths tore and what he had used before, we made minor tweaks to this, but it was ideal as we didn't have to source anything other than the tiles. The work took a little longer than planned but it was a very small space that was a little awkward to work in and some time was spent waiting for plaster to dry before the next stage, grout to dry etc. Alex cleaned up every day and kept the room as useable as possible during the work (very important to me as I was very pregnant at the time). Alex is pleasant, professional and courteous and talks everything through and includes you in decisions as required. We are very pleased with the end result, it is like it has always been there! Thanks for another job very well done.

Alex replaced my bath with a shower unit not as easy as it sounds as the space was not of a standard size but this proved to be no problem. My apartment was kept clean and tidy at all time with rubbish put to one side for collection. I also had a the wash basin replaced with a new vanity unit, and also an updated radiator. I was able to go away on holiday knowing the job would be completed on my return and I was not disappointed, I was happy to leave Alex my keys. I hope to get him to redecorate next year also knowing I can go away whilst the work is done. Great value for money.

Alex responded promptly to my initial phoned enquiry by agreeing to call round first thing the next day, to assess and quote for the job. What he wasn’t told but may well have suspected, is that the work had been started and abandoned by someone less competent. Alex worked quickly, cheerfully and professionally. I was so impressed with the refit of my shower room that I gave Alex the job of replacing my kitchen. He has done another fantastic job, rewiring, re-plumbing and replacing the ceiling before fitting new units and tiling floor and walls. The finished room is superb in every detail. Alex is a perfectionist, but practical too. Working with a tight budget, Alex has given me a high quality and stylish kitchen. I can highly recommend his work and now I am saving up to have him refit my bathroom.

My shabby, unusable shower room has been transformed! It is superbly fitted out with a lovely modern white suite and full-length shower cubicle, travertine tiled floor and beautifully tiled walls. The rotten floor was repaired and strengthened with solid pine floorboards. No corners were cut - this is really professional work. Alex takes pride in his work and the result is a perfect job.

The customer was advised the work would take approximately seven days. I had offered to collect the materials the he had ordered. However, as this was not local to the customer's property, this added some time to the whole project. Also, the customer had asked for extra flooring to be laid, which then led to the work over running by half a day. We kept him informed, if we were going to be late on any given day for any reason.

Alex is committed, and really helpful and highly skilled in his work, as well as being a friendly person. He wants to do the best job possible, even if that means over-running. Its nice to meet someone you can rely on for a change. Due to his high standards he did over-run which meant that he was then working on our bathroom and someone else's, but he was always honest with us, kept us informed, and was true to his word. He was also on budget. We are very pleased with out new bathroom, and I'm not easily pleased. A fantastic job well done. Some unexpected problems encountered along the way (e.g. uneven walls needing to be rebuilt, ceramic tiles that I chose extremely difficult to cut) dealt with professionally and without complaint.
