I had trouble with my back double glazed door. I rang the company and was charged a fee. The operative took my door handle away and left me with the wrong type of door handle. I tried to open the door but it would not budge. I rang the company again and was told by another fitter it would cost another fee to fix. I felt his manner could have been better on the phone. My door is still the same. I feel I have been let down by the company. I later rang another company and they said they would be able to do the repair cheaper, so I got them to do it. I am hoping Imperial can reimburse me in some way.

The customer phoned on a Saturday stating her door handle was broken, an engineer attended in 2 hours with various handles as this was not our door. A temporary repair was carried out and we informed the customer of locking scrap problem and the cost. Another of our engineers called on Monday and changed the door barrel free of charge.

The owner of the company failed to honour the 10 year guarantee as stated in the contract. He simply changed the goal posts and charged for a defective unit to be replaced. He refused to answer any enquiries in regards to this, other than a verbal refusal to comply with wording of the contract.

The customer was not happy about having to pay the small cost to change a glass unit outside of the 10 year guarantee period. We carried out the contract for the cost of the unit to buy in only. We are sorry the customer felt unhappy but all our glass units are only guaranteed for 10 years from date of contract.
