Response from Roots Upwards t/a The Outside Works:
The masonry work consisted of building up 2 stone piers either side of a gateway and a central post, trying to match in with a 100 year old natural stone wall. On a number of occasions, we consulted the customer’s wife during the building process to make sure they were happy with the work/stone. We are not in the habit of carrying on with a three day project if the customer is not happy. Four days after having started the work, the husband decided that the work was not, in fact, to their liking. We then took considerable time talking to and emailing the customer with solutions, however, we were stopped halfway through the garden works and pulled up on parts we were not given the opportunity to finish or check. We removed the dangerous post as soon as we became aware of it. Despite our considerable efforts to find a solution that would be agreeable to both parties, a happy outcome was not reached on this occasion.
