Hang 5 doors
4.810
Verbal estimate was given when he visited to quote, at a reasonable rate per door. He hung five in total over a period of only two and a half hours. He then requested more than he had originally quoted. I supplied all furniture and doors. House was left in a mess all doors cut inside, tidied up with Hoover but mess all over.

28 July 2008Response from The Door Hanger Ltd:
I made a verbal quote to the customer at his home of which he accepted without any hesitation, and we arranged a date for the job to be done. On arriving I informed him that there will be shavings from the trimming of the doors, I informed him that we will leave his premises as we find them, his wife told me not to worry too much as she had not done her housework that day because of the work about to be done. I proceeded to do the work trimming the doors on the landing and not in the bedrooms, after the first door was fitted the customer commented on how impressed he was, telling me that he had tried to hang a door himself some time in the past and how difficult it was. After all the doors were hung the customer inspected the work and he commented that we had done a wonderful job and he was very impressed and could not thank me enough. He asked me what the final bill was as we had fitted an extra door, on telling him, he told me that I had quoted less on our original meeting. I was a bit surprised at this and thought he was joking at first. I informed him again of the set price I had quoted and have been charging for sometime.
Because of this unfortunate misunderstanding, I gave him a 10% discount off the final bill which he reluctantly accepted.
