Why choose AMJ Contracts?  Because we are passionate about plastering and anything to do with trowels!  Please let us quote and we know you won't be disappointed.
We are new to Checkatrade and, as our customers are able to rate us, it will help us to focus on areas where we are not getting 10 out of 10.   We'd love you to be our next reviewer - will you give us 10 out of 10?  We truly hope so!

Why chose us over anyone else?  We are a small progressive business with a team of competent and pleasant plasterers who will be delighted to work on your project.   We love plastering and we are always looking for new challenges.

Our newest offering is the installation of external wall insulation (EWI).  EWI will significantly increase your homes ability to retain heat.  Your bills will be reduced and your home more inviting.  Funding may be available for this type of installation as part of the UK Goverment's Green Deal.  We are working towards becoming Green Deal installers and hope to have the accreditation in the near future.

We continue with our many successes in the application of through colour spray render.  This replaces the traditional method of using sand and cement with modern materials to give an exceptional finish and definite kerb appeal.  We want to spray your house. This is the only time plasterers get to play with plant and we do it so well.  Admittedly, it is a messy job BUT we consciously aim to keep the mess in the skip and not in your house.  The render comes in practically any colour you want and once applied means you will never have to paint again.  We will be using professional cleaners on all our forth coming rendering jobs who will come behind us so when we leave, not only is your house the best in the street but your garden will be pretty smart too. We read our reviews too!

What else can our talented team do?  We provide a venetian plastering service; the ancient artisan discipline based on the manipulation of lime plaster and finely ground marble. The skill of the plasterer transforms simple base materials into a beautiful and durable work of art for your walls and ceilings. This is an art and means that no two projects are the same, ensuring a finished product that is unique to you.  Please look at our gallery to see some of our previous projects.

We also love talking about new systems, such as External Wall Insulation (EWI).  EWI will provide the owners of older properties with an achievable solution when considering insulation.  Previously covered by The Green Scheme, a Government led initiative to address those in fuel poverty, EWI is attached to the outside of the property and then rendered over - well, you wouldn't leave the cosy off the tea pot so why let all that expensive heat escape when you're paying for it?

The other dilemma faced by house owners is that the existing render is sound but you want a new look.  Talk to us about acrylic paints and coverings.  Again, this is a new system that offers the low maintenance advantages of through colour render without major works.  This may be the solution you require.

We also provide an after care cleaning and maintenance service for your through colour render.  Although virtually maintenance free, render does get dirty - we live in London and it is a city with cars and pollution.  Therefore, we can clean and seal your existing though colour render to bring it back to its original condition and ensure that it looks its best for years to come.  Why paint when you can wash?  It is easier, quicker and cheaper than painting.  We use a render cleaner from Europe which is sprayed on, left for a few hours and then washed off with clean water.  The render is left to dry and finally a hydrofuge is applied to seal and protect it from the effects of weather, pollution and algea. By definition, a hydrophobic surface is hard to wet and it is also referred to as the lotus effect, after the superhydrophobic leaves of the lotus plant. A droplet impacting on these kind of surfaces can fully rebound like an elastic ball.

We hope you have gained a positive view of our company - we love plastering and through continual development and training, we will be better placed to provide not only traditional services but all the new systems too.
