Allow me to introduce myself to you
A.T.S (appliance testing services).
We are a PAT Test company that carries out inspections and tests on all your appliances, if you have not had them done or they are due to be retested why not call us for a price.
We test all appliances that source their power through plugs, at A.T.S we check the condition of all casings that cover those important parts for any damage like cracks or were you can see exposed metal work’s. We also check the cable/leads from the appliance to the plug for exposed wire, nicks and wear and tear and we also check the plug casing for damage for cracks, melted casings, missing pins and that the cable/lead does not pull out from plug, we check the it has the right fuse and the fuse cradle is in good condition. We the plug the appliance into a tester to see if it passes or fails. If the appliance passes it will get a green sticker, if it fails it will get a red sticker. All the appliances checked will be placed on a list and given an ID number. At the end of the test you will be emailed your test results for passes and fails and a certificate.
If any appliance's fail we will be telling the Manager/Owner/Supervisor and then it will be down to them to either have the appliance repaired or thrown away.

What is portable appliance testing?
Portable appliance testing (PAT) is the term used to describe the examination of electrical appliances and equipment to ensure they are safe to use. Most electrical safety defects can be found by visual examination but some types of defect can only be found by testing. However, it is essential to understand that visual examination is an essential part of the process because some types of electrical safety defect can't be detected by testing alone.
A relatively brief user check (based upon simple training and perhaps assisted using a brief checklist) can be a very useful part of any electrical maintenance regime. However, more formal visual inspection and testing by a competent person may also be required at appropriate intervals, depending upon the type of equipment and the environment in which it is in. considering the type of equipment and what it is being used for. If it is used regularly and moved a lot e.g. a floor cleaner or a kettle, testing (along with visual checks) can be an important part of an effective maintenance regime giving employers confidence that they are doing what is necessary to help them meet their legal duties. HSE provides guidance on how to maintain equipment including the use of PAT.
