“1) Time keeping poor. Was supposed to overflow to second day but took up all of it and was late finishing. Had left at 2pm on first day to take his Son on a motor-sport weekend. 2)Our main criticism is that although he was made aware of certain difficulties with the installation before giving his quote, two days before the work was to be started, he told us he had miscalculated the price and increased it. It was really too much when having completed the work, he had added yet more on. 3) He wasn't prepared to take away the old toilet, cistern and basin unless we paid yet more money.”

I called to notify him that it was busy that morning in the merchants and I would be arriving 20 mins late. The first time I went to have a look at the job he was going to supply the goods and he just needed a labour only price which is what I gave him.
He then asked me to supply the goods. I gave him a supply and fit price which he agreed. When I placed the order they said the cistern and tap wasn’t in the price for the goods. I informed him and he accepted. When I started he said if I was to remove the toilet I would have to make sure the new one was installed that day even though there was an upstairs toilet, so I fitted the basin and left at 2pm. I mentioned that the job was too small to warrant a skip and that I haven’t got a waste carriers license. The Customer said he would take it to the dump. I completed the work and left on good terms, when I sent my invoice he refused to pay the additional cost and said he would report me to Checkatrade if I didn’t accept this.
