Matt gave me some sound advice as to how to turn the water off from the pump, while he was on another job and then came round later that evening to take a look. It needed new hoses but as its not a new pump it was a bit of a hassle trying to get hold of the spare parts. Matt sourced the parts, keeping the cost down for me when some less scrupulous might have suggested a new pump and got everything up and running.
