“No pre-painting preparation was carried out, painted over dusty walls (dust was from previous contractor), he commenced painting within 20 minutes of arriving with no preparation being carried out such as sanding down. I was on edge from that moment onwards, his cutting in etc was very poor, on day 2 and a half he asked for more money on top of the agreed price to make good the doors and paint the inside of the cupboards. The total estimate was £2850, which upset me.I asked him to leave the premises as he had increased his price out of the blue, he asked for additional money to make good the doors, and cupboards. I asked him to leave the premises, and on leaving I was verbally abused, with threats and foul language. On day one, he was paid £500 cash, for materials. He then asked for a further £240 for the last two days that he was working. I feel that he took advantage of my age and disability.”

Response from Carl Joseph Painters & Decorators:
I was there for five days, I had completed two rooms and this customer commented on how nice both rooms had been decorated, I had asked him if he was happy with the work. On day five the customer asked me to do some extra work (the doors) to which I agreed. I explained to him that this would be at an extra cost it was not included in my estimate. Everything had been fine up to this point. This customer got really angry and left the premises in a rage only to return 15 minutes later and told me to leave. I asked him why but he refused to speak. I knew why. He had decided to kick me out purely because I would not do the doors for free, which was a disgusting thing to do. To then say that the work was poor and that I verbally abused him is pure fabrication on his part. If the work was that bad then why did he choose to pay me. Why has he scored me 7 for courtesy after accusing me of verbally abusing him. It does not make an sense. Disappointed with is comments.
