My first job after leaving school was for an apprentice painter and decorator. Shortly afterwards a position became available within the roofing team where I began an 'in house apprenticeship' . I started labouring then onto improving and then after 2/3 years started laying slates and tiles. I was now a qualified roofer and was given a labourer to work with me. We worked on houses, churches and other historical buildings.
In 1987 I became self-employed and worked for various roofing companies.
For the past eighteen years I have been sub-contracting for the local council doing all roof and gutter repairs including corrugated roof sheets and now repairs under solar panels and also fixing bird guarding around the panels.
So as you can see I'm new to Checkatrade but not to the Trade. Hope this gives you some help and trust in me.
Many thanks, Kevin
