“The paint work was fair but the untidiness was extensive! There are paint splatters on the walls, fence, bins, door mat, door drive, and the road. He managed to destroy a previously health shrub and did not say anything, we discovered it when we arrived home. I asked him to cover the door when he was painting but arrived home to find it uncovered. He does not appear to have a car and transport every on foot. He equipment was in our garden for weeks. We complained and £80 was taken off our bill, but we really regret using him. We now have to try to remove the paint splatters.”

Response from Phil Sargeant Painter and Decorator:
Thank you for your feedback. The works consisted of a large pebble dash front panel which hadn't previously been painted so took 2 days longer than planned as the panel needed 4 coats of paint and I didn’t charge the customer for the extra. My ladders were stored out of the way round the back of the property, sadly this was the only place the ladder could be positioned to work safely on the property and any paint on the brick work was removed. I was out of pocket on this job due to the extra works and the 20 litres of masonry paint used and I spent time trying to repair the guttering at no extra cost. The comments regarding mode of transport I was 200 meters from the job so didn’t need to drive as my son used the van. I was unaware of any concerns at the time as the customers husband transferred the payment straight away. After I knew of the matter I deducted £80 as good will. I have since returned to the customers property since receiving this feedback and have cleared any small splashes of paint. I wish the customer all the best.
