“AC installation jobs was quoted for £11,500.00 (ext VAT) to install 7 internal and 3 external units. I paid 50% deposit of £6,037.77 and the job began on 21st May. They then agreed to cover the cost for the electrics. On the 23 May, they installed a substandard option connecting the units to the ring-main. I complained and asked that it be rectified. On 24th May they removed the units installed, left exposed Live cables in bedrooms and outside the property and aborted the job leaving us ripped off. Tradesmen walked out of the job”

Response from Protocool Ltd:
We attended the clients home and carried out a survey to install air conditioning. The client asked us to arrange a quotation for the electrical power requirements to power the systems. We agreed to send an estimate and to arrange an approved electrician to site survey if the ‘estimate’ was accepted. The client accepted our air conditioning quotation (which had electrical supply work excluded, clearly) before an estimate or electrician had been sent. We sent the air conditioning quotation very quickly which was then accepted very quickly. The client requested that the installation was carried out immediately which gave us little time to arrange the electrical site survey. When we explained that the electrical estimate and survey was ‘to follow’ the client became very distressed. We tried to explain the situation and tried to offer a solution. Unfortunately we could not meet the clients demands for all the electrical work to be included as part of the air conditioning works. We are still trying to find an amicable resolution to complete the job.
