“His dogs ate the plans. Dug in wrong place, measurements wrong. Didnt factor in a grid. Worked 3 hr days, didn’t turn up at all on 18 days. Dec - July, took 6.5 months. Small skip insufficient so my garden was like a building site, rubble everywhere. Nibs at the join of extension far too big, not to plan. Work re-done twice after complaining, have to get another plasterer in as such a bad job. Grid, lintels, replacement tiles, plumbing, electrics, saw to fix mistake, relaying floor all extra cost. Insisted being paid before snagging. Single female of 72 yrs hugely stressful experience”

Response from Stephen's Building Solutions :
Foundations were dug correctly in accordance with the architects plans and precise measurements whilst also allowing for the drains. The grid was an additional extra that the customer requested to wash-down her driveway. The skip was sufficient – had the customer not used the skip to dispose of her original kitchen after stating that she was going to sell it privately. A couple of occasions I was on-site for ½ a day when external contractors were completing work or I need to arrange deliveries or materials. I never just “didn’t turn up”! The size of the nib was in keeping with the structural engineers calculations and the local authority building inspector – who passed the work! Work was re-done due to the customer ever changing her mind. Plastering work was completed to a high standard with pictures to prove workmanship. Additional works completed were not mistakes but second fixes completed by the plumber and electrician. Flooring was changed due to customer preference not poor workmanship. Payment was made by the customer in full after the customer stated that they were “happy with the job” Only weeks later did I receive a letter outlining a snagging list – that was completed promptly by myself.
