I have polystyrene tiles on my ceiling which need removing and then replastering can anyone tell me if this is possible?

After removing all the tiles and adhesive blobs, the ceiling should be inspected. If there is no wallpaper present then a good plasterer would be able to PVA (adhesive) and skim coat plaster.
