Checkatrade partner update: Low Carbon Academy secures funding for City & Guilds NVQs level 2 & 3

We were delighted to hear the news from our partners over at the North West Skills Academy and Low Carbon Academy.
What does this funding mean for tradespeople?
Should a tradesperson decide to complete any of the NVQs level 2 & 3 with the Low Carbon Academy, they not only earn themselves a 6 month free voucher for a Checkatrade membership, but they get funded support to complete the City & Guilds training with the Low Carbon Academy.
On LinkedIn, The Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy provided some more context about the funding: “Courses will be free or heavily subsidised and provide retraining opportunities for people already working in or looking to start roles in green energy sector.”
“The funding will provide training for people already working in the heating and plumbing sector who are looking to retrain or increase their skill levels, as well as for those looking to enter and work in the energy efficiency, building retrofit and low carbon heating sectors, building both the overall number and skill levels of trained installers across England.”
