Checkatrade launching new advertising campaign

We all know the jingle, and the brand is a household name, but many people still don’t know why Checkatrade is the best place to find a trade or service for the job they need.

Recent market research told us that whilst we have high brand awareness, people still don’t understand the level of checks we make on our members. So, we’re on a mission to turn this around!

As you know, we carry out up to 14 checks on all our trades or services so that consumers don’t have to. This offers peace of mind and trust which is what we want to highlight in our new marketing campaign.

What’s happening?

We have created brand-new TV creative to highlight the 14 real checks that we undertake before any trade is listed on the site. Our famous jingle is front and centre, with the stars of the spot singing a brand-new version.

The new advert and supporting campaign is a big and simple idea that drives meaning and trust in the brand and allows us to definitively own what we do, in a way that only we can.


The campaign sees an extended rollout of this year’s regional TV trials with ITV. We’ll be back on air in the North West, North East, Central and West plus we’re adding parts of the South and Greater London. The new ad runs from 7th October, with support through digital advertising, website, social media and email.

What’s next?

As well as all that, we have lots of exciting new things in the pipeline:

•We’ve renewed our sponsorship of ITV’s Jonathan Ross Show for national coverage every Saturday from 14th September through ‘til the end of the year

•From mid-November we have a new 12-month TV sponsorship on Homes and Really channels for all their homes/ property/ refurbishment programmes.
