New outside tap fixed

Fixed oil boiler and serviced it

Engineer was late, he was then rude about the work of another tradesman who’d done a job I was perfectly satisfied with. I assume this is because CHAPS had also quoted for the job (3x the amount!) He made some remarks to me. Told me my oil tank was about to spring a leak which would cost hundreds of thousands of pounds and wouldn’t be covered by my insurance as he’d pointed it out. To top it off I got a bill of over £700 for less than 4 hours work! I raised my concerns with the director, who after promoting, offered me a meagre discount of £36 with the caveat that I pay straight away.

The customer was given a written estimate to carry out repairs, fit parts and service her oil boiler prior to us carrying out the works. This was accepted in writing so the costs should not have been a surprise. We carried out the works to our normal high standard which you would expect reading from the many positive reviews. The previous time we worked for the customer we had problems getting paid so we offered a small discount on this occasion just so that we could have our account settled. Just to confirm - we did not offer any discount as a result of the customer’s claims. We apologise for our engineer being 9 minutes late.

When the job was first looked at we were given advice on what to have done and indeed saved us money as told previously that we needed more work done which was not necessary. Dan arrived on time and he was very polite. He carried his work out efficiently and cleared up any mess before he left. Would use this company again when needed.

Under floor heating issues, drain smell issue, replace tap

We have happily worked with chaps for a number of years. They have been great daily finders for our underfloor heating, and also for a grains smell which wouldn’t go away, and they also found in our new build house a drain hadn’t been connected. They care about getting the job done well and they want your repeat business. They have a clear pricing policy and record time they arrive and leave, no surprises. They also have many plumbers so you aren’t dealing with fitting in the diary of a sole trader.
