• Renovating a dorma window that has become water damaged

  The job: renovate the 2 floor dormer window. I was not in attendance so I asked him to take photos of ALL the work. He only sent me photos of the area covered in plastic sheets and then clad. This work from my unprofessional eye seems ok. However, 1. I am in the dark wether he removed the old water damaged wood before he covered it in the cladding. 2. Around the window itself, it doesn't seem to be finished off with trim. The rain can get in around there. I have tried to call and message him since then and he does not reply or call back. I would be wary of using him again.

  Mark Smith is excellent at his trade. He gets full marks for reliability, tidiness and courtesy. He was also very obliging and worked fast. The work he did was to a very high standard and included cutting out some rotten wood and applying wood treatment. He introduced my wife and I to the benefits of dry verges to properly protect the gable ends. He also washed down the old soffits. It was all told a good experience. His quote was the most reasonable of the four we got and we felt we were getting value for money. Mark comes highly recommended

• Roof repairs

  Following the need in 2022 to add netting round the PV panels to prevent access to pigeons etc. which was efficiently and tidily done by this company, it was necessary this Spring to repair the ridges and hips where the weather had broken some of the finishing fillets away. All has been done to our satisfaction. Mr Smith 'tells it as he sees it' and we are very happy with the service he offers. We will be pleased to have further roof repairs undertaken by this company and would recommend their services.

• An honest roofer!

  We were in need of an assessment of the state of our roof, as it has been leaking following solar panel installation, caused by what we thought were a few broken tiles that we had been made aware of. Several months ago another 'roofer' 'fix' the issue but a few weeks later we saw further leaking. Today we met with Mike, and what a relief to find an honest person who took the time to thoroughly check the roof and videoed the damage and instruct us on the best course of action. We're really grateful and will absolutely be calling you for any upcoming work!
