  • Broken washing machine door.

    I had a washing machine emergency and this company was absolutely fantastic. I emailed Darren on the Monday and sent some pictures of what had happened. Basically the door came off in my hand! The parts were ordered for next day delivery and the repair was carried out less than 48 hours after it happened. Our washing machine is used everyday and it was a relief to have it repaired so quickly. I would highly recommend this company and wouldn't hesitate to use them again. Thanks to Darren for sorting this so promptly.

    They started by trying to repair existing integrated dishwasher but that proved uneconomical, so we went for a new dishwasher supplied by the company. They were able to supply and fit new machine and dispose of old machine within a few days of abortive repair visit. Generally the overall service provided was very good. Only downside was that new machine didn’t fit quite as ‘seamlessly’ as the old.

    This was the first time that I had used J Searle and I read online reviews which appeared very positive. However, as they are a supplier of Domestic Appliances, I had some concern that their bias would be towards buying a new machine rather than repairing my 9 year old dishwasher. I needn't have worried, Darren arrived early, was polite, efficient and tidy. He explained what he was doing and why. I would definitely recommend J Searle/Darren and will use again for both repair and purchase. I can genuinely recommend them.

    The age of the items and unavailability of replacement parts meant that we bought new oven and hob from Searle's. They installed them the following day. Super efficient. And their shop in Buckfastleigh is a gem. As we purchased new items, the cost of the repair visit was not charged.

We have a large showroom with an extensive range of products and are committed to our customers by providing a great service before, during and after every transaction. We offer a competitive repair service and can in most cases come out to you on the same day or next day to ensure you aren’t left without your appliance for longer than necessary!


Our lead engineer has been with us for many years and has great knowledge and vast experience in repairing and diagnosing faults and issues with domestic appliances. We offer repair services on freestanding and built-in washing machines, tumble dryers, electric cookers, refrigeration and more. Our engineers keep a good stock of spare parts so can often fix the problem on their first visit.

We offer repair services on all well-known brands out of warranty, such as Aeg, Bosch, Blomberg, Hotpoint, Hoover, and many more! Our engineers will always quote you the price of repair before proceeding and our fixed labour charge keeps repair costs to a minimum. However, if your machine is unrepairable or deemed uneconomical to repair, our engineers will offer advice on a new replacement product. If you purchase or rent from us, then no charge is made for our engineers visit, and as members of Euronics; Europe’s largest electrical buying group, we offer competitive prices and a great range of products, many available for free next day delivery. Please note - we do not repair gas or dual-fuel appliances.
