Water Cylinder 250L replacement

My Personal Electrician/Builder has caused us major inconvenience. They were supposed to install for us a new water cylinder 250L on the 1st of Sept. On the 4th of Oct. We find ourselves with our old cylinder disconnected for more than a month now, no new cylinder and we are £2,545 short. Original quote was increased by £195 which we gullibly paid in good faith. Promises about ordering the boiler next day, after they had ordered the wrong one to begin with, were never fulfilled. Clearly, we expect a full refund, and if that is not forthcoming immediately, we may need to take further action.

The initial mix-up resulted in the order of a different, though much lower-cost, cylinder with all the similar features.Upon understanding your preference for the specific cylinder you had initially referred to, we agreed to cover most of the additional cost, as you rightly pointed out that your acceptance was based on the presented invoice, hence your small contribution of £195. However, unforeseen delays in securing the preferred cylinder made next-day delivery impossible, leading to a two-week wait. We fully understand your decision not to prolong the process, which prompted your request for a full refund. Regrettably, a complete refund faces challenges due to expenses incurred from multiple plumber visits, cylinder removal, and the significant administrative time spent on addressing your inquiries. Your satisfaction is our paramount concern, and we remain committed to finding a resolution that aligns with your expectations. Please inform us of your preferred course of action, and we will diligently work to accommodate your needs.
A Questionable Service

Although MPE Byron was pleasant, it was disappointing that for a 10AM appointment, I was still waiting at 2PM, with communications in between that he was delayed but would be with me at 12 which didn't happen in the end. Rescheduled to next day, but he turned up late, looked around for about 15 minutes, identified extra works, then was on the phone outside the premises for 30 minutes or more, so we agreed he'd send another quote and rescheduled. The quote was an additional £1315.00 on top of the £550 already paid upfront which they required. I knew this was very overpriced from past experience

We try and get to every appointment on time and we kept in touch via the office as our company policy is to keep you updated. We gave you a verbal quote based on your initial request on the work that needed to be carried out on the day. Upon attending we identified more works to be carried out than what was expected, this work was required to be in line with current building standards - BS7671. We understand this increased the overall price of the job and was more than initially quoted for however the property hadn't been inspected for over 10 years and this was the work that needed to be done to make the existing wiring system safe for continued use and ready to let. We like to think that safety is an important aspect that our clients value and this is why we include this in the forefront of everything we do.
