Service the boiler and fit TRVs to radiator

Verified Review

They quoted 2 hours to service my boiler and fit TRVs, they charged me for 5 hours in the end, and the engineer carried out a safety check of the boiler instead of a service, and then sent me a quote for a follow up service of £806. I have raised this with their accounts team who now are claiming that there are two levels of service, but this was not mentioned to me at any point in the process and is not mentioned on their website.

We were engaged to attend your property to conduct a boiler service as well as install four TRVs. For context, we did not give you a fixed price quotation, we gave you an estimation. Understandably, only an estimation regarding time can be given remotely. There are many factors that could present themselves causing a job to run for a longer or shorter period of time. There are many ways of fault finding and rectifying issues and only an engineer in attendance is best suited to advise the time work could take. With regards to the boiler service, we can confirm our engineer did carry this out and the results were satisfactory as per the certificate. The engineer did however, recommend a full strip down service whereby components would be replaced if required. This differs to our standard boiler service as the labour involved is more extensive. I see a quotation detailing the full strip down services has been sent to you. Please feel free to call our office if you’d like to discuss this in further detail.

Had problem with boiler and was misled to pay upfront having given a false assurance that electrician can check whether economy 7 is working at property during daytime and investigate issue with boiler. Was reassured repeatedly that electrician can check whether economy 7 is working during daytime failing which they’d offer a refund and all work is guaranteed for 12 months. Electrician neither diagnosed issue or offer realistic solutions what he did was waffle vacuously. Asking nonsensical questions about how I know the boiler isn’t working. Charged £120 for only suggesting I get neon switch

Following a quotation, we were commissioned to install a kitchen sink and tap you would supply. You then requested for us to supply the sink. As agreed, this was then booked in at our standard rate of £110+VAT per hour plus the materials. On the day of attendance, it transpired that the base unit was not in a structurally sound state to support the new installation. It was also advised that the existing tap would need renewing. The original sink was reinstated and the engineer left the property having spent 97 minutes on site. I can see a quotation has been forwarded to you detailing the follow up work required whereby the unit would be reinforced and the sink installation would be completed. Replacing broken bathroom tap

Repifix responded instantly to the job request and the agent was very understanding and patient while enquiring and also followed up for the booking confirmation. They were able to send someone right the next day which was fantastic considering that the work was urgent. The engineer that came was friendly, fast and clean, did the job perfectly. Affordable price, too. Definitely would recommend booking Repifix to anyone, and will keep them in mind for any future work.

Called about water escaping into toilet bowl and onto flat roof, guy fitted new isolation valve which worked and as it turns out the wrong fill valve then turned around and said he didn’t know why it was still overflowing

Thank you for your comments. To clarify, our engineer installed a new cistern inlet valve and an isolation valve. Unfortunately, the inlet valve failed due to the increased water pressure entering the property. It transpired that Thames Water were working on the water supply outside your property resulting in the increased pressure. As our work is guaranteed, we can arrange to replace the valve however, it has been advised that your water provider restrict the pressure to prevent recurrence.
