Paul was super friendly and efficient, gave us advice but was also flexible and gave us a couple of options for our designs so we can review the cost for either. Good value for money for the service, and provided an extremely thorough report. Would 100% recommend.

Company info

Our mission is to provide clients across the United Kingdom with structural engineering services for all types of buildings, from concept planning through completion, with a highly skilled professional team working together, using common sense and practical experience.

Temporary works are the parts of a construction project that are needed to enable the permanent works to be built. Usually the temporary works are removed after use - e.g. Facade Retention, Temporary Supports & Restraints, Demolition, Protection, Access Scaffold & Gantry Structures, Sheet Piling & Retaining Structure Design, Underpinning Design, Piling Platform / Mat Design, Needle Shoring & Propping Design, Tower Crane Bases/ Foundation & Hoist, Mobile Crane Outrigger Load Check, Temporary Support for Basement design, Falsework & Formwork Design, Hoarding & Site Entrance Gate Design, Mortar Silo Base Design, Site Cabin Base Design, Category 2 & 3 Checks, Practical Floor Load Test – (for machine loading), Acting as Temporary Works Co-ordinator etc.

Permanent works are the parts of a construction project that will be used and remain in position for a long time - e.g. 60 years - e.g. Foundation Design – Strip Pads, Piles & Ground Beams etc., Domestic & Commercial Premises Conversions, Steel Frame, Beam, Columns & Connection, Fabrication & Detailing, Timber Frame Design, Retaining Wall, Concrete Elements Design, Concrete Reinforcement Detailing etc.

As the Temporary Works Engineer, we coordinate design, selection of equipment, appointment of contractors, supervision of work, checking completion, authorisation to load and removal; thoroughly and systematically. Temporary works can be very sensitive to how they are used and are easily affected by other work taking place nearby.  For these reasons the TW designer needs TW training and experience.
