The mixer tap was not working.
The plumber replaced the pump but still the mixer tap did not supply much hot water. He came back and said there was paper in the pipe. He then came back a third time to investigate again. After this I had a leak and water poured through the ceiling. I believe this was because of the “push pipes” that he used and the fact that I probably didn’t need a new pump. I have lost faith in this trader and would prefer him not to return.

Response from A Good Plumber (UK):
When diagnosing this problem it was apparent that the shower pump needed replacing,as the internal pump mechanism had broken and was in several pieces. I also removed paper from the filter at the shower mixer, paper which had passed through the pump due to no filters fitted to the pump when it was initially installed. I did revisit the property 3 times thereafter to remove further paper in the system, this time trapped by the pump filters. I was unaware of the leak through the ceiling until Checkatrade informed me, and found that the customer did not want me to return to investigate. I sympathise with the issues she has had but can assure her that a new pump was necessary.
