    Baker Developments came highly recommended and they did not disappoint. John and his team were excellent in every respect from giving us a quote to completing the work. Their workmanship was to the highest standard and carried out with obvious pride and attention to detail. They were extremely tidy and kept any disruption to a minimum.     John and his team built our extension to a very high standard which we are delighted with. I changed my mind on a couple of occasions and nothing was a problem. John was always contactable if we had any questions about anything and always so polite as was all the team. John and his guys always tidied up at the end of the day which was great. I always made tea and coffee for them as it's nice to be nice and would put a plate of biscuits out too which was very much appreciated. We highly recommend John and his team and will definitely have them back if we need anything else done.

    We are very happy with the high quality and standard that Baker Developments offered throughout our project. This included resurfacing and prepping the ground for new flags, rebuilding a sizeable garden wall including all drainage and removing an old apple tree.     Excellent quality of work and all completed within agreed timescale and budget. Friendly and polite and even went the extra mile to come out later ( without being asked ) to cover the new brick work went it rained over the weekend and then uncovered it early the next day (Sunday) to ensure finished drying. Highly recommended both for quality of work and service and will definitely use again for future work and recommend to friends.

Baker Developments is based in York and have been working in the construction industry for over 20 years, working in and around Yorkshire. Having experience in renovation, insurance work (Fire and Flood) restoration, conversion and modernisation ranging from listed period properties to modern.


We are a small company and the customer will receive a professional, trusted and personal service. We always strive to achieve a high quality service with attention to detail.


We have our own bricklayers, joiners and general builders in house, as well as sub contractors we continuously work with on our projects.


We carry out all internal and external building work including new builds, extensions, alterations and conservation work. The range of skills include stonework, brickwork, traditional stone/ modern roofing, traditional truss roofs, concreting/screeding, pointing, plastering boarding, stud walls/partitions, Stone paving Structural openings and structural repairs, cellar conversion, loft conversion, barn conversion, property alteration, new build and extensions, Flood and fire renovation.
