  • Laying a new limestone pathway

    I recently had a new pathway laid by Ground Designs. This was the second job that they have done for me and again I was very impressed and pleased with the quality of their work. They were very punctual and reliable, friendly and polite and very professional. Dean, the owner obviously takes a lot of pride in his business, nothing is too much trouble for him and he personally ensures that the work is finished to the highest of standards and he really cares that his customers are happy with the work. I would definitely recommend them as both my experiences have been excellent!

    Honestly, fantastic! Dean is a great chap who managed to keep up a smile even in the pouring rain! We were kept in the loop throughout, the design was perfect and his advice spot on... and the garden looks marvelous!

    Dean and his team have done a wonderful job and I am totally delighted with my new garden. Dean was really helpful with the design and was always happy to for me to make final decisions whilst they were working so that the end result was exactly what I wanted and it was a pleasure to have all of the team around. They had to use a neighbour’s parking space for their equipment and supplies and cleared up completely after themselves each evening. I am extremely pleased with everything and would highly recommend Ground Designs.

    We have been using Ground Designs for many years. Dean has now completely overhauled our back garden. He is highly imaginative when it comes to garden projects and every project we have asked him to complete has always gone beyond our expectation. Our last project, a pergola, is absolutely beautiful and we can’t wait to see the jasmine and honeysuckle climbing all over it. We can’t recommend Dean and his crew highly enough.

    Dean and his team were absolutely fantastic. From the beginning from when Dean provided us a quote to the end result Ground Designs were professional and reliable. They were punctual, hardworking and consulted us on every step of the build. They were tidy and worked in all weathers. Nothing was too much trouble for them. They kept to budget/quote and the end result is of exceptional quality. We are delighted with the end result and would highly recommend.

    Ground Designs were highly recommended to me by a friend who they had done a driveway for. They are not the cheapest but they are probably the best hard landscaping company out there and I would not hesitate to highly recommend them to my friends. Dean was very likeable and genuine right from his first visit and I felt instantly at ease and knew that my project would be in safe hands. The work started on time and even finished on schedule in spite of terrible weather and me changing to a more complicated design. The work was finished beautifully and they were a pleasure to have around.

Ground Designs was formed in 2006 by Gary Joynes, who has over 40 years’ experience in the trade of complete landscaping. Dean, who has worked for Gary as his right-hand man for over ten years, now owns and runs the business. 

We are keen to provide an outstanding service to our customers, whatever the size of the job, from total design makeovers to general garden maintenance.


Ground Designs operates as one dedicated, professional landscape team.

This ensures you benefit from first class service and expertise from start to finish.

We concentrate on doing one job at a time which means we get booked up very quickly, so please bear this in mind when planning work in your garden.

Demand for our services is increasing and lead-in times can be up to five months, but Customer Feedback confirms we are worth waiting for.

As always, you get what you pay for. If you want a first class job allow plenty of time so that you receive the best workmanship and customer service.

For small scale jobs we may be able to fit them in between larger projects, so please do not hesitate to contact us to discuss your requirements.
