    James responded very quickly to a situation where we had a bird trapped in our chimney breast. He was able to release the bird safely and clean the flue. As promised he returned later to fix a new cowl to the chimney pot. All work carried out efficiently, with minimum disruption. James was very extremely knowledgable, polite and friendly. Highly recommeded.

    Just moved to Seaford and had 2 Jackdaws trapped in the flue. Saw James on Checkatrade and rang. He arrived same afternoon and managed to remove a live Jackdaw from our gas fire flue as well as a dead one. He then fitted a cowl to the chimney to stop further problems. James was courteous, friendly, helpful and efficient. He ensured everywhere was clean after the job. The cost was also very reasonable. We could not have asked for more and as our first "new" tradesman after our move to Seaford, we are very happy with the service provided. Highly recommended and will use again.

My name is James, (aka Jim the sweep) I’m your local fully trained and fully insured independent chimney sweep based in Seaford, East Sussex, but covering all areas within a 20 mile radius. I am HETAS approved and Sweep Safe credited.  I provide a clean, polite and courteous chimney sweeping and stove maintenance service at a competitive price to both residential and commercial customers. I also supply and fit a wide range of cowls, bird guards and caps.

 

Trained in brush and power sweeping techniques, I can sweep chimney flues used for any fuel type, wood, coal, smokeless coal, oil and gas.

 

Your chimney will be swept in accordance with the latest British standards and an insurance approved Sweep Safe safety certificate will be issued with every sweep.

 

All chimneys flues should be swept at least once a year whether solid fuel or gas and any wood burning appliance should be swept every three months if in constant use. Regular maintenance of your chimneys flue will ensure you home is cleaner, safer and your appliance more energy efficient. Poorly maintained chimneys will greatly increase the risk of fire, carbon monoxide poisoning and soot fall.

 

Sweeping includes:

  • Inspection of chimney on arrival at property
  • Clean sheets for floor and furniture
  • Use of latest modern cleaning equipment
  • Complete brush and/or power sweeping service
  • Identifying any problems
  • Smoke draw test
  • Certificates issued
  • Advice and guidance
