  • Stairs/Utility Room

    We had our stairs renovated by Mark late 2019, and they continue to be commented on by all who visit our home. We had a new boiler fitted recently and the fitter strongly recommending a carpenter to address the utility room that was impacted by the installation. Lo and behold, Mark turns up, and utilises the spare cabinets we had and rejigged the room such you would have never had known that the boiler works had been done. I simply can’t praise him high enough for the work as a whole, he is master of his profession and very old school in his approach. Thoroughly recommend him to anyone.

  • Build an alcove cupboard and log store

    I rarely leave reviews but I just had to for MKH Carpentry. From the first contact we knew we were in safe hands with what we wanted building. We had an alcove cupboard and a log store built and the end result was so good that I just sat admiring them and smiling. The finished result was better than I imagined thanks to Mark's insight, experience and attention to detail. It's so nice to get more than what you expected with a tradesman these days. He is professional, friendly, competitively priced and clearly a very talented carpenter and was worth the wait. Thank you so much!

  • Fitting out of a Dressing Room

    We wanted to convert a spare room into a dressing room. Mark has skilfully achieved this for us and some. The quality and wow factor is amazing and we’re thrilled to bits.   • Rebuilt our 1980's stair case

    Mark removed and rebuilt our 1980's stair case in oak and glass. The transformation is quite spectacular. His attention to detail and craftmanship is truly amazing. I would highly recommend him to anyone. We have other projects in the pipeline and will certainly be using his services again.

  • Media wall made and fitted

    Mark made and fitted a media wall for us as well as a built in floor to ceiling cupboard. We told Mark our vision and he outdid that putting forward ideas that bettered the final project. -Communication was A* -Standard of workmanship A* -Costs were competitive. -Mark protected our furniture with dust sheets and cleared all sawdust created from the job. Will think of another project and be in touch again soon.

Company info

Hi, I'm Mark. I have been trading as MKH Carpentry since 1990, after completing an extensive 5 year apprenticeship during which I won the apprentice of the year 1988. This gave me the opportunity to be trained by many skilled craftsmen during my working experience.

As a result I am able to offer a wide range of carpentry,  joinery, and cabinetry services, to a high standard. Specialising in bespoke, or made to measure built-in furniture; kitchens, bedroom wardrobes and freestanding furniture in many types of timber, including MDF for painting.

I also undertake high spec 2nd fix, stair banister renovation, sliding sash window construction, or renovation and decking. In fact if you have a picture of something in timber I can usually make it.

I start by visiting you at your home, discussing what you require, you will then receive a computer designed scale drawing to base the quotation on. On acceptance a date will be booked in my diary for the work to be undertaken.

All bespoke work is carried out in my small workshop, then fitted onsite by myself.
My quotation will not allow for decoration, but I am able to recommend decorators if necessary.
