  Reading some of the reviews posted I can say they totally reflect our experience in employing John to replace our garage roof. I wouldn't hesitate employing,or recommending John,to do further works around the house. The work was top quality, nothing was a problem and it was a pleasure having him working on our home.

  Since moving in 2018 we have had the pleasure of using Ripley Development multiple times. Works include: Chimney breast removal x 2 Chimney stack structural support Roof light install New doors install Roof repairs Remodelling of lounge We highly recommend Ripley Developments. All work has been carried out to a high standard, on time and as per agreed budget. John has a broad knowledge of all building tasks, a very methodical work manner, excellent work ethic and works incredibly clean. On a personal note - John is a great guy, understanding, considerate and trust worthy.

• Roofing and Chimney

  John has done some work for me on 2 separate occasions, first on roofing repair (tiles, guttering and flashing) and then to remove an old chimney where the brickwork had started to crumble and let in water. John is a consummate professional. Everything from the first point of contact (he arrives when he says he's going to! He calls or texts back every time!) through to completing the work and tidying up afterwards is done properly, to a high standard and John is excellent in his communication, keeping you informed as he goes. The quality of he work he does is outstanding - highly recommended

• Roof Verge Repair

  I got in touch with John after some roof tiles slipped in the storms. John was quick to respond with visiting to obtain a quote and carry out the repair. The works carried out were to an excellent standard, all debris was cleaned up and everything was left tidy. I would highly recommend Ripley Developments; John is a pleasure to deal with and always happy to help with a great quality of service.

• Replacing a rooflight with a bespoke one

  John replaced our rooflight which we had bought bespoke from the manufacturer. He made the upstand and new flashings which were top quality, fitted the window as well as replacing any broken tiles while he was up on the roof. His is meticulous in his work which we love and we can be 100% sure we have received the best job. As he is a carpenter as well, any roofing works can be truly relied upon. He will be back to our house for other projects as I know he takes emense pride in his work.

• Renovation of Chimney Stack

  The initial brief was to repoint our chimney, replace all associated leadwork, fit a new chimney pot and anti-downdraught cowl and install new lead soakers to a lower section. John submitted an extremely detailed quote and provided photographs as the job progressed. Various defects were discovered in the roof itself which John rectified without additional charge. The job was carried out to an extremely high standard including the erection of the required scaffolding. All lead was welded rather than just overlapped. John Ripley is professional, accommodating and polite. Highly recommended.
