SashWise is a family run business based in Twickenham and specialises in the repair, restoration and replacement of wooden sash windows.   Dan (the owner), and his team of highly skilled craftsmen are passionate about delivering a high level of service at a competitive price.  We only use the best quality materials and take extreme care in our clients’ homes. Servicing and draft proofing – save heat, eliminate drafts and improve sound-proofing
By using a specialist draught-proofing system we will get your sash windows opening and closing smoothly again and eliminate draughts & rattles.  Sash cords are replaced with high quality waxed cotton cord and the windows re-weighted and re-balanced.  Any rot is repaired on site.
Full restoration – restoring the integral beauty of your period home
Wooden sash windows are key to the architectural heritage of any period home.  Our team of skilled craftsmen are passionate about returning these historic features to their original beauty through our full restoration service.   At our local workshop, the sashes are taken back to wood and all rot is repaired.  The windows are then fully serviced (as detailed above) and painted throughout using a special high quality micro-porous paint on the exterior and an eggshell finish on the interior.
The boxes are prepared, sanded, primed and an undercoat applied.  The sills are also finished with a gloss and eggshell coat.
Double glazed hardwood sashes – retain heat and reduce noise levels
If you are looking to improve the thermal performance of your sash windows and reduce noise pollution then we can make double-glazed hardwood timber sashes to fit within your original box sash frame. This is a more cost effective and less disruptive process than replacing the whole of your sash window. 
If you are looking to re-instate timber sash windows, if you need a new window in an extension or if your current sash boxes need replacing and they are beyond repair, we can also supply and fit new hardwood sash boxes complete with double glazed sashes that replicate the originals.
