After personally accumulating considerable knowledge in all aspects of Carpentry, David formed D.S. Carpentry & Building in 1990 trading as the Carpentry Contractor for major house building organisations such as Wimpey Homes, Charles Church, Berkerley, Persimmons & Mansell. 

During the mid 90's D.S.Carpentry & Building entered into domestic building and began converting lofts.

The demand for this type of work soon took over and The Loft Conversion Company (Portsmouth) Ltd was formed and is now the longest established loft conversion company in Portsmouth.
