• Fitting A Wooden Worktop and Ceramic Sink

  Steve came over today to fit a solid woodwork top and ceramic sink. He did a superb job, evidently a highly skilled tradesman. His professionalism was next level, going above and beyond at every part of the process, ensuring everything was bang-on perfect and resolving any challenges with great care and attention. To top it all off he’s a lovely chap too; polite, helpful and courteous. I couldn’t recommend him highly enough. Great work Steve and thanks again, we’re chuffed with the result.

• New roof, loft insulated and boarded

  Steve and team replaced our 115 year old cottage roof. We also had the loft re-insulated and boarded. The service from start to finish was brilliant. We were consulted about the materials used so they were in keeping with the style of property. Steve kept us up to date with the schedule of work and everything went beautifully to plan. Unfortunately we had some issues with ill-informed neighbours (avid DIYers) who were under the impression they knew roofing better than our professionals (with 60 years experience between them). • Roof repair. New Facia, membrane, guttering &down pipes

  Steve Barclay recently completed repairs to my roof which was suffering a troublesome leak. Not only did he identify the source and rectify it he also offered recommendations on future proofing potential problems due to the age of the house and its construction. So whilst the scaffolding was up we opted to replace roof felt and add new membranes as well as new Facia, guttering and down pipes. All work was completed on time and as agreed. The one thing that stood out was Steve’s customer service and attention to detail. Top quality work at a competitive price and great customer service!.

• Roof repairs

  In January 2024 Storm Henk removed some ridge tiles from the roof of my three story townhouse and also caused damage to the guttering. Steve responded quickly to my request for a quote which included commissioning a scaffolding tower and the remedial work. All this was completed on the promised timescales and subsequently allowed my insurer's surveyor to sign off the work.

• External Dorma Window

  We had been looking for a contractor to carry out work on a Dorma window. We came across Barclay and Co’s website, along with highly rated reviews, which impressed us. We gave Steve a call who came out to take a look, discussed and listened to our requirements and gave sound advice. The work was completed to a very high standard. Steve is conscientious, dedicated and takes great pride in his work as well as being trustworthy and reliable.
