WELCOME TO CINERGI

SOLAR PANEL INSTALLERS

Having been a trusted supplier of traditional energy solutions for 40 years, Cinergi has evolved with the times. We have embraced all forms of renewable energy, including solar panels. They are one of the most popular sources of renewable energy for homes and businesses in the UK – no doubt you’ve seen more and more of them pop up on a street near you.

If you’re keen to find out why they have become so popular and how they can benefit you, read on and contact us for a consultation.

HOW DO SOLAR PANELS WORK?

Solar panels are made up of PV (photovoltaic) cells. When the sun shines on them, they absorb energy and generate DC (direct current) electricity. This is converted into AC (alternating current) electricity, which then flows into the building and can be used to power any electronic equipment, just as regular mains power does.

HOW LONG DOES SOLAR PANEL INSTALLATION TAKE?

Installation is fast and efficient – typically no more than a day for a domestic property. There is huge variation in commercial building shapes and sizes, but expect installation to take upwards of one week.

WHAT HAPPENS TO THE ELECTRICITY I DON’T USE?

A typical home will use roughly a third of the electricity generated by the panels and the rest flows into the National Grid.

Many customers opt for battery storage along with their solar panels, allowing them to store the vast majority of the electricity they don’t use. This provides an excellent back up option for when sunlight is more scarce and allows you to get more out of your investment.

IT WORTH INSTALLING SOLAR PANELS AT HOME?

Absolutely – solar panels are popular for good reason. There are so many benefits for your property, your pocket and the planet.

  • Reduce your carbon emissions – solar panels provide a renewable, clean energy source, allowing you to live/work greener.
  • Save on your electricity bills – with prices rocketing, an investment in solar panels makes more sense than ever before.
  • Earn money on electricity you don’t use – surplus electricity flows into the National Grid, which your electricity supplier will pay you for as part of the Smart Export Scheme.
  • A good return on investment – the Energy Trust estimate solar panels start to pay for themselves at some point after 14 years, which given their 25-year lifespan is a great return.
  • Low maintenance, quiet and durable – solar panels require minimal maintenance, last for up to 25 years and generate power silently.

IS MY PROPERTY SUITABLE FOR SOLAR PANELS?

The majority of homes can accommodate solar panels, but it is entirely subject to an on-site inspection. Cinergi designs bespoke systems for all sorts of properties, even those that have restricted sunlight hours. A slanted roof is no doubt more suitable, but not essential. You will need ample roof space, which may eliminate some smaller properties. Unless your building is a listed property, it is unlikely you will require planning permission for solar panels.

HOW MUCH DO SOLAR PANELS COST?

Cinergi provides tailored installations to each and every property, and we will provide a unique quote based on your requirements. Generally though, solar panels cost upwards of £5k/£6k for a domestic property.
