  To see if your gutters have been properly cleaned is very difficult for an octogenarian, but I climbed a ladder and took some photographs the next day. The job was far from perfect and required a second visit, which, giving credit where it is due, Aurien immediately acquiesced. He was most apologetic and humble, and his second attempt was excellent, and he took photos himself this time to save me clambering. He blamed it on the icy conditions. The moral here is, you can't clear gutters with a giant hosepipe from the ground without checking what you have done.
