  • Repointing, repairing an arch and garden path and wall

    10Verified Review

Dean tackled a host of repairs on our 1930's house which had frost damage, a failing porch arch and lots of pointing issues. He was also able to re-instate a failed garden wall and re-lay a garden path. Very decent and friendly chap who kept us posted on how things were going. Happy to recommend Dean.

  • Repointing victorian house

    10Verified Review

Dean was recommended by several people, including the scaffolding firm who had seen his work on other victorian houses in the area, and we're very glad we followed the recommendations. He gave a very reasonable quote and got on with the work quietly and efficiently. We discussed the proportions of lime and sand etc in the mortar mix, and the resulting pointing looks really good, and hopefully will last for years. If the weather allows, he'll be coming back to do the back as well.

  • Brick wall, paths and seating area

    10Verified Review

Dean has been back to work on further stages of our garden. Creating brick paths a low, dividing wall and a seating area. We will be asking him to come back for further projects as his work is excellent and it's a pleasure to collaborate with him. Quality of work, timekeeping, tidiness and communication about dates, materials, methods and prices are all trouble free. He also takes time to discuss the job thoroughly throughout, listening and giving good advice. Yet again, highly recommended by us.

  • Repairing and repointing Edwardian porch

    2Verified Review

My porch is in a worse state than before the work was done.Dean used sand and cement when the rest of the house is lime. The mortar is very messy spilling out onto bricks. The arch was bodged with coloured filler that doesn't match. The work was carried out during freezing temperatures which is not conducive to good brickwork. £180 was given for materials that cost £80. I was on holiday when the work was completed, I naively paid 60% on return Dean repeatedly refused to return, discuss and make good the work, saying he stands by it when the absolute shoddiness is apparent. Appalling !

  • Rebuilding a partly-demolished garden wall.

    10Verified Review

Dean was the first to respond to our enquiry and visited us to do his survey very quickly. I had reversed my car into the low wall at the front of the house so some bricks had been broken and some were intact. Dean talked us through the options initially quoting to rebuild the whole wall but he did warn that this would be quite expensive. He also gave us a price for restore the damaged part of the wall only and that's what we agreed to. Dean bought matching bricks to replace the broken ones and carefully removed the mortar from the undamaged ones. He did a fantastic job at a great price!

  • Rebuilding of a chimney in order for a log burner to be fitted.

    10Verified Review

Excellent work carried out by Dean. Polite, friendly and tidy he kept in touch throughout the job and kept me updated with photos. Very reasonably priced and the finished chimney looks great. I would definitely recommend him.
