  • Kitchen & Living room refurbishment

    The team did a super job on our ground floor refurb - involving a structural wall knock-through, new flooring, installing new kitchen and redecorating throughout. Communication was clear and professional; especially good around payment and scheduling works. Ben was always happy & patient to chat through questions or tricky areas which we appreciated. Really happy with the quality finish and attention to detail throughout, especially with our 1920s house where nothing was level! Many thanks to the team.

    Ben was great to deal with. He team showed up prompt each day and the level of communication with him was great. We had regular update sessions and had a clear understanding as to where the job was up to. We found this very reassuring as this has been the first large scale building job we have undertaken on this house.

  • Side extension to accommodate at wetroom.

    We asked Field Design and Build to build our side extension to accommodate a downstairs wetroom, sink and loo. Before the start date we were sent a document outlining all the stages of the job which we found very reassuring. The team were very professional and friendly. They have build us a great extension. It looks great from the outside enhancing the property. From the inside the wetroom looks fantastic! We are more than pleased. Our extended family are now seeking their services for their own jobs! And our neighbours! We thoroughly recommend them and would definitely use them again.

  • Building a dorma

    We've recently had a dorma built on our house by Field Design and Build. Ben was excellent throughout; superb communication and incredibly understanding of what it was we were after. Steven was the main guy on site throughout and he was equally excellent. They rebuilt our loft from one small bedroom creating space for an extra, much larger bedroom. All the guys who helped out with all the jobs, regardless of big or small were polite, pleasant and as tidy as the job allowed

  • Brick up window and other small brickwork

    Ben is experienced and professional. He came to resolve unfinished work from a previous builder who under performed. He removed a window and bricked it up, installed weeping vents, corrected the incorrect installation of my door by bricking underneath and sorted some dodgy brickwork too. He turned up on time, cleaned up with himself and kept me informed constantly prior to arrival.

**NEW TO CHECKATRADE** Field Design & Build LTD is a local family run construction company serving the communities of Altrincham, Timperley, Hale, Wilmslow and general Cheshire area.


Hello, I am Ben, I have been in the building and construction trade since leaving school making initially my way as an electrical engineer's apprentice.

having reached a high enough level and with over a decade of knowledge I then started up on my own and ran my own electrical installation business for several years. (2007-2017)

during this time period I began being asked to do more and more structural and renovation jobs which mainly starts with " do you know anyone who does".... so not to miss a trick and being capable enough of doing so, I started taking on the extra work myself.


As the work started to come in, I then took on a joiner to help me with the workload.

As more work came in from that, I then needed a labourer (Elliott) due to demand in work, and the expansion began!

Then followed Steve, a local ground-worker, and they both are still with me to this day.

All of the work that followed, was received by word-of-mouth recommendation, and we went from one job to the next with no need to fulfil advertising needs.


Over the years I have carried out and fully completed several major renovation and extension projects, to a high standard, some of which you will see on my profile page and lots more on my Instagram feed.
