    James installed a new loft ladder replacing the original flimsy house builder supplied ladder with a more solid safer ladder. The work increased the opening size. So it will now allow suitcases to be stored in the loft which is a bonus.

    Our old stone cottage with a slate roof began to leak. It wasn't a massive job but the work needed to be done urgently. The work covered the replacement of around eight broken slate tiles, repairs to lead flashing and repointing of the chimney stack. We approached several roofing companies including GD Property Services. In the end GD gave the most sensible quote and timeframe for fixing the faults it so they got the business. The work was carried out to our satisfaction and the house is beginning to dry out. I would definitely recommend them for similar work.

GD Property Services is a small business run by James Godman-Dorington based near Dorchester.  James works closely with his clients to offer a full property maintenance and building service. Covering everything from urgent small repairs to extensions and complete new builds using a network of local craftsmen with exceptional reputations for providing the highest quality work. Clients include local Councils, Estate and Letting Agents as well as private home owners.  

The range of building work undertaken includes full design to completion of new builds, extensions, bespoke timber framed buildings and detailed joinery and landscaping.  We also undertake partial and full house renovations, roofing (using existing materials and new from traditional tile to cedar and slate), window and Dorma window repairs (from supplying and installing new to general repairs), door hanging (internal and external) including garage doors and large gates, decking, fencing repairs and replacements.  

We use traditional techniques and the level of service and quality of craftsmen is the key to our reputation.   

Previously based in West Sussex our timber buildings have featured in the Telegraph, Country Living magazine and previously exhibited in the London Country Living Fair and Hampton Court Flower Show.
