  • New Consumer Unit fitted and all checks carried out

    We contacted GES via Checkatrade, as we needed a new consumer unit following electric shower failure. The existing consumer unit was outdated and unsafe and failing to trip. A visit was quickly arranged and Garry and Pip soon got to grips with the job in hand. It was by no means straightforward as our property is very old, and Pip had a heck of a job just fitting the new box due to crumbling plaster! We are more than satisfied with their excellent work. These lads were pleasant, professional and they explained everything to us. Highly recommended!

    Circuit board fault with one circuit breaker tripping main breaker - other breakers working as they should. Asked to unplug sockets [already done] NO sockets tested visual only. Dismissed when tried to ask questions - advised fault was due to washer/separate dryer overloading a breaker [neither were operating at the time of cut?]. Advised they could get essential services working short term (hot water/heating etc.) for £50 and return on Monday .. they did neither ..  rude, condescending - long story short AVOID - another tradesman has resolved today [wasnt the washer btw]

  • Restore electrics to living room lights

    Left request late Thursday night and was contacted 1st thing Friday morning by Garry from General Electrical Services to arrange a visit Saturday morning. After some initial checks he realised that the job could be more complex than initially thought. Therefore he readily offered to return on Monday morning 1st thing. The slight issue was that I was unable to be at the house, but we arranged access and by 1030 Mon morning living room lights fully functional and job complete. I would like to thank Garry and G.E.S. For the fantastic service they provided, definitely use again, highly recommended.
