Cut down and cut back overhanging trees to fence height.
10Verified ReviewWe are delighted with the work carried out by Jack and his assistant. The quote was reasonable, there was very good communication about dates and times etc. Jack arrived in plenty of time and was extremely polite and helpful in his advice about what needed doing. The job was completed to a high standard, and they cleared away all the debris brilliantly afterwards. We couldn't be happier. We would definitely recommend Lumber-Jacks and would use them again.

10Verified ReviewExcellent service. Jack undertook all the preliminary TPO applications with the Council, scheduled a date for the work and arrived punctually on the date scheduled. Jack and his team worked professionally and safely to successfully remove the trees, with the minimum of disruption. They observed health and safety at all times were courteous to neighbouring properties and left the garden immaculate after the work was complete. We could not fault any aspect of this service and would highly recommend Jack and his team to others.

Company info
Based in Horsell, Woking and cover all surrounding areas.
We pride ourselves in offering a high quality service by our fully qualified and insured tree surgeons.
Lumber-Jacks are professional Tree Surgeons and specialise in Tree and Hedge Care.
Services Included:
Tree Felling
If trees are damaged, diseased or invasive, removal may be the best or only option. We will leave the area clear and tidy ready for replanting or regeneration
Hedge Trimming
Hedges ideally need maintenance twice a year, this ensures that they keep their shape and size but also helps them grow into a dense boundary.
We have high attention to detail to ensure your hedges are trimmed to the perfection.
Hedges make a lovely home for wildlife so we ask that you please check that no birds are nesting. Birds nesting season is Feb- August.
Crown Reductions
Crown reductions include the reduction of the width and the height of the tree whilst keeping the root system under control.
Crown Lifting
Crown lifting involves removing the lowest branches of the tree to allow more light below the tree or to improve access. No more than 15% of the crown height should be removed leaving the crown to make up at least two thirds of the tree’s total height.
Crown Thinning
Common reasons for Crown Thinning are to allow more light to pass through the tree, reduce wind resistance with maintaining the shape and size of the tree.
Limb/Branch removal
Removing a dead of damaged limb to reduce the risk of it becoming a hazard.
Deadwood removal
Dead-wooding is the removal of any non-living branches and stems from the tree to avoid any risk of danger should it fall. This is particularly important in areas where people may walk, play or drive underneath.
Pollarding
Pollarding is a technique used to manage the size and shape of a tree. A frame-work is created when a tree is young by removing the top of a tree to encourage multi-stem branches at that point. This is carried out every year or two from then on. This is only suitable for certain tree species.
Stump removal
Following removal of a tree or hedge you will be left with a stump close to ground level. If you are looking to replant in this area or just want a tidier finish you may want to grind the stump down to below ground level.
TPO Application
A Tree Preservation Order is an order made by the local planning authority in England to protect specific trees, groups of trees or woodlands in the interests of amenity.
Lumber-Jacks Tree Services are able to apply for the approval of any tree work on your behalf. The local tree officer will come and review the tree and make a decision within 6-8 weeks.
A tree with a TPO will need approval before the work can commence.
