    I have used Derek for the first time to do welding on my car. Derek very kindly fit me in to make sure it was within 10 days of my MOT. Derek came to do the work with his father; they're both very pleasant to deal with; they're both very polite, friendly and professional. Derek is also very knowledgeable and did a couple of extra little jobs too. Despite the job running over the time Derek predicted, he very kindly did not add much more onto the quote. Derek is very competitively priced. Derek is very genuine and honest. I'll happily use him again and recommend to friends. Thank you Derek!

Hi I’m Derek. Originally trained in the Royal Navy as Marine Engineer Mechanic. Then retrained for Car Servicing and Maintenance before leaving the Navy. 

On leaving, I was a Self Employed, Mobile Mechanic. I also worked for a Rover Dealership before getting my own workshop, specialising in Welding.

I qualified as Class 1 HGV and then some years HGV driving before returning to being employed as a Mobile Mechanic. I worked for a Family Firm covering HGV, Van and Agricultural repairs, servicing and welding inc MOT preparation/presentation.

I’ve now decided to return to being a Self Employed Mobile Mechanic. Specialising in Classic British Cars and offering a friendly professional Service to Trade and Public in Cars, Vans and Class 3 HGV. I also offer Mechanical servicing and repair to Yachts and small pleasure boats.

I have owned a Triumph Spitfire Mk2 since the early 80’s and love it to bits. In December 2021 I purchased a Triumph Stag for my Wife. It was sold to me as scrap or repair. On April 1st 2022 after just 5 months of repairs and a re spray, it was on was back on the road then MOTed. It was all done as a sort of Fb blog on what I can do. I am also a very keen at Yacht Racing. In August 22 we used the Stag to tow a 22’ Racing Keel boat and regatta kit to Kiel Olympic Yacht Marina in Germany for the Olympic 50 Regatta. From Home to Kiel and back the Stag never missed a beat.
