• Replacing concrete drive with porous asphalt

  Our old drive was 65 square metres of rutted concrete and pot-holed tarmac. Penfold cleared it in a day, replacing the area over following days with porous asphalt edged with bricks and granite setts. Staff arrived promptly each morning, missing just one day's work when a supplier's lorry broke down. The men were unfailingly polite and friendly and clearly took care to avoid mess, creating an end product that's extremely attractive and appears to be of high quality. We're extremely happy with our choice of contractor.

• Block driveway

  Penfolds came and did an excellent job of removing my old driveway and garden. They replaced the whole area with a block driveway. The men (Jake and George) were very polite and worked very hard, not even stopping when it rained. I am very pleased with the finished work and would highly recommend them.

  Original drive levelled, curbing put in and completely resurfaced with tarmac. Work was done promptly, efficiently and to a high standard. The team worked well , they were helpful, polite and friendly. Extremely knowledgeable and proficient. We are very happy with the work done and would highly recommend them .

  Provided with technical advise, sought to be cost effective in the specification, price competitive. Adaptable work schedule. Efficient and tidy execution of the works with courtesy and respect for all around. Accommodated all incidental requests along the way. End result looks very smart and exceeds expectations. All in all a good firm to work with, will use again, and to be recommended.

• Cover existing uneven driveway with bitumen and gravel

  Initially the driveway looked even but after a few days it became more uneven, particularly where I park my car and where the initial concrete was bumpy. I accepted this. However, two weeks after the work had been completed, holes appeared along the route where two concrete slabs did not meet under the bitumen. The space had not been dug out and filled correctly. I immediately got in touch with the Company who promised to repair the driveway. Since 15th June to 18th August, I have been chasing the repair but have received numerous excuses why the work cannot be completed. Still waiting.
