    Within 20 minutes of my call I was contacted by workman who came to my flat about 20 mins later. I explained the 2 problems and he took out the plug at the bottom of the machine and carefully cleaned the plug and replaced it. Turning on the water to the washing machine it remained leak proof. Turning to the tap he said that he would have to get a replacement and went off in his van to get it. He returned with a new tap and proceeded to remove the old one and replaced it with the new one. It tested fine.
